Silk or matt ?

Going to do them both in white, but silk or matt ?

If you have anything but perfectly flat walls silk will show al the imperfections too.

I don't like silk personally.
Tips on painting fresh plaster here: http://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/paintnewplaster.htm. If you start before the plaster has dried out enough, or don't 'size' it with a watered down coat of matt first then the paint can peel off the plaster.

White walls are alright but definately go for matt.

You wouldn't use silk emulsion on door and skirting surely. You'd use gloss.

Indeed, Matt, and gloss for the wood work!

Though I recently bought a PaintPod. Paints a touch pricy for them, but they are fantastic.

It depends on the condition of the woodwork. If it's perfect, or you're willing to sand it until it is.... then use gloss. If it's old and been painted many times then silk is better because the imperfections won't show up as much.
