Wearing sannys to a wedding?

They was £3 from TKKmax I can take a picture of the price tag if you like and I didn't know anyone there

I'm pretty sure that most people believe you paid £3 for the plimsolls, they might have struggled to believe they were £35 worth but that was a misunderstanding due to phrasing. However knowing (minimum) 7 people at a wedding doesn't really count as knowing no-one, that's quite a lot of people to at least get you starting speaking to others if you want introductions.

When the hell did these things become popular?

When I was in primary school such things and daps were known as gip kit. They were not cool and were mocked for wearing them.

Let the mocking commence!

£3 lol
You'd have to pay ME to wear something like that.

It's not fashionable, it looks like something a window licker would wear on a day out.

I have a similar pair that I wear for working out, cheap minimalist footwear and vastly cheaper than many other 'near-barefoot' shoes (Vibrams etc). Find them much more comfortable to wear than regular trainers but its a wedding you should make an effort and wear some kind of formal shoes.

I know I hate them too they look as bad as the smart shoes I saw. Now I can bin them they fullfilled their duty.

Again, what is the point of this thread as you have no intention of taking the advice you asked for?

I wasn't asking for advice I was asking for opinions (already bought them), did you actually read the OP

Not really a cheapskate when I got a better PC than you lolz

You just showed everyone how mature your really are. No wonder you wore canvas 'shoes' to a wedding (a formal event). You obviously have little or no understanding of dress codes and what is and isn't appropriate to wear to different events.

can we just close this thread now, he wore them, most of you don't like it, he doesn't care, end of thread :P

I do like how some people call him a chav/***** and some call him an emo :P Plimsoles are more of an indie kid shoe to be honest. Skinny jeans and tops kinda thing. Well thats the kinda people I seen wearing them, not chavs as chavs prefer nikes (innit) and emos prefer converse. But basing someone on their shoes is not really a good idea unless they are a girl and they are wearing a pair of ugly heels and then they can be taken to the nearest shoe shop and told to get a nice pair. Ahem

I'm pretty sure if the bridesgroom decided, on his wedding that someone was no longer welcome, they would be escorted out rather quickly. People are there to celebrate and share a special occassion, not undermine it.

But he wouldn't disrupt his wedding to escort out a guest just because he was wearing black canvas shoes, would he? Hence my keyboard warrior comment.

So are you honestly telling me that if I was to go for a job at say a top London bank for a £40,000 a year position, I'd be alright to wear plimsolls?

You think that's true?

Just a yes or no will be fine.

I think this is why I'm failing at interviews ? :(

/mental note

wow interviewer with sannies
