My grandad wants a games console

F1 and a wii (with the aids on)

Edit: missed the PS2/1 suggestion - maybe try somthing like gran Turismo or crash team racing if he just wants somthing simple and fun
 
PS2, Ridge Racer Type 4, Gran Tursismo 3-A Spec and Gran Turismo 4, one of the above suggested Colin McRae games, driver 1, possibly one of the Toca games? Looking at under £50 for all that or under now :)

Maybe a need for speed game if he wants siple fun pleasures too?

And be there a lot to play with him, as Campbell said, the motivation for it was seeing you playing, and the reasoning for it is wanting to do something that looks fun, with you :)

Lucky fella, having a wannabe gaming grandad :)

It should just work. All PS3s play PS1 games regardless - the backwards compatibility fiasco is just for PS2 games.

Oh thanks didn't know that at all! shall buy a few ps1 games now!

saying that - can get ps1 for £10 these days :P
