I dont currently have a h50 so its not is it worth the upgrade question everyone seems to go on about but just wondering (fans aside) how the pump noise compares to the h50, ive had about 3 h50's now (dont ask) and they have all buzzed/whined if the h70 is the same i will definately consider a custom loop.

Thanks in advance

i have had mine for nearly 3 weeks and it whines already,
I would recomend to get a custom water cooling kit like iam goin to do and should have done.

re:

Definately was not worth the upgrade for me personally but my H70 does not whine:confused: My H50 didn't whine
I have read a fair few have had H50 `s that do mind.
Cheers

I have noticed that mine whines when the PC is in POST but as soon as the windows spash screen appears it stops whining.

Tempted to upgrade to an h70. Going to see if any of my mates want to buy my h50 first though.

There are several things that can cause the whine. The most common is using MOBO headers to control fan or pump speeds. Of course, like any product, an occasional bad apple gets out there. If anyone has an issue with our units let me know or hit us up at our forum. We'll help you fix the issue or replace the cooler if needed.

Interesting ive had 3 or 4 H50's now and they have all been the same ive always had them connected to mobo headers, never tried them on a fan controller as i thought it was a big nono :D

It is a big no no, what he meant was the pump needs full power, so best to use a header that can't be controller, or alternatively powered directly via the psu, a lot of waterpumps are like this and need full power.

ah right, afaik all my headers can be controllers, although i think you can set them to do whatever

anyway

ive gone a different route, i was given a voucher from a friend who had no use for it and have got myself a xspc x20 750 dual kit cost about £20 more than the h70 but it will offer at least as good cooling but probably quieter and the option to upgrade later

I don't like H50 to be honest. Awful pump noisey. And even worse, the H70 need a very high fans which it end up really loud, very discomfortable! I am glad to have a much quieter Noctua D14.
