If you look at the map Japan has endless amounts of connections. I'd also argue that internal networks are harder to improve. After all, getting fiber lines into 30 million homes has got to be harder than laying a few underwater cables, no matter how advancedBut out of the two isn't it better to have a fast international connection. Countries like Japan and Sweden have fantastic infrastructure but their speeds are woeful when accessing/sending data to Europe and America in some cases.
Also isn't it easier/cheaper to improve an internal network compared to an international one.
Just shows how we have one of the best internet connections in the world!
