ATI logo finally gone?

I think ATI have a better brand image than AMD, especially with ATIs latest release. It doesn't make sense to do it now when the brand is arguably gaining momentum.

^^^
The brand isn't successful, all you here about is still is "Ati driver reliability" so Ati has a negative stigma that has stuck from years ago. It's going to be hard to shake it off.

AMD made Ati a much better brand recently by making VERY good hardware.
It would be even better if AMD could lose some of the Ati associated Stigma.

You're really overplaying this. ATi have been a consistently successful brand for the past ten years. Apart from their issues with the HD2xxx series, they've not released a single duff card, unlike Nvidia's terrible FX5000 series and their late and disappointing Fermi. The 9700 Pro was a legendary card, and the 9800 sold very well too, years before AMD bought them. The 4xxx series forced NV to be accountable on price, and the 5xxx series has just cemented that position.

Not successful eh?

AMD need to grow the CPU business more. It will be easier to promote the AMD brand in the graphics arena due to weaker competition. All AMD need to do is keep ahead of Nv and all the momentum Ati is picking up will be transferred to AMD.

AMD also don't have any stigmas like poor quality drivers etc to deal with.

Yeh that's all very well, but do you not constantly here Nv users constantly bash Ati drivers "Always trouble Inside" or "Every Ati card I ever had, gave me driver issues so I would get an Nv card" etc.

This is proper BS. Anyone with even a modicum of common sense would see it as such. How can one even feel comfortable posting it ?

That would be censorship based on the PO own views.
Or You think that the OP should only post things that they agree with.

Oh I see, upset that I think GF100 is EOL soon?
Well let's wait and see...

GF100 isn't eol soon, only thing to support that is dropping prices and that's a very unreliable marker or eol

the low number of partners selling them is due to bfg going bust and xfx not being allowed to sell fermi's because they started selling ati stuff

to be honest, from a personal stand-point here, not saying it should/shouldn't happen but i think the sooner AMD stick their name over the door at ATI the better, they need to stop this pointless two brand/one company stuff and get it over with. i mean hands up who really cares whether a graphics card says ATI or AMD? at the end of the day its made by the same people, same location, etc. so how is it remotely a bad thing? AMD would probably keep the successful Radeon name (even though yes it sounds sorta like washing powder or some other form of cleaning product, 'what do you use to clean your soiled clothing, i use RADEON!').

but back to the point at hand, AMD have been a rising power in the industry for quite a while now, and sure they've had their setbacks with the intel core series fighting back but they still control the value, mainstream side of the market, Phenom II X4 or Intel Core i5 (Phenom is cheaper and therefore in my eyes will attrach some business), they've just overtook NVIDIA in the graphics market for the first time ever i believe? and they have a bright new architecture on the horizon with Bulldozer, which is hopefully gonna take the fight right back to Intel. dunno about you lot, but I think the future is bright for AMD and I personally think ATI will disappear, but thats not a bad thing! :)

Could Kitgura but Ejizz?

Nope i didn't even skim the text.
It was posted somewhere else & i read the comments from the posters & then posted i here.

I also think the Ati brand is still tarnished from the old Ati days anyway, although AMD have been doing well at improving Ati's image recently like what VW had to do with Skodas stigma.

Also the Radeon name is kinda crap, sounds like cheap washing powder?
AMD needs to take a leaf from Nv's marketing book and call their new line of graphics cards something like "AMD Xstream 1.0, which now comes with 2000 stream processors blah blah blah.

Eh?

If anything, the ATI brand is worth more. I don't see AMD forcing Intel to drive prices down as much as ATI has with nVidia?

Good grief, are you ejr22? Would explain a lot.

It's only a matter of time now to be honest, driver site is fully AMD'd now. With Fusion and Bulldozer round the corner it makes sense to completely absorb ATI into a single entity.
