Hey guys,

Got a shoot in a few weeks and we want some areas with graffiti covered walls with some interesting surroundings?

The only place I can think of is Southbank where all the skaters are...problem is it's full of skaters so not ideal for a shoot :p

Any ideas folks? We are very close to Liverpool St so can get pretty much anywhere in London.

We don't want to be too secluded though, and central would be nice as I know the area fairly well :)

Cheers all,
Jake

Waterloo?

Waterloo, Mile End, Tufnell Park, Tottenham, Crouch End, Plaistow, Essex Road, Barking, Grove Park, Westbourne Park..

All completely legal, but I'd watch out at some of them - Especially Tufnell.

Yeah, would rather not too rough...don't fancy running with a couple of grands worth of gear :p

I'd stear clear of some of them then.. If Southbank is too busy, I'd suggest Waterloo station or Crouch End. The crouch end one is part of a community centre thing, so your camera should be all good :D

You just walk around the outside of the station when you get to Waterloo and you will find the side road that leads into the tunnel.

The amount of Graffiti is crazy.

Because its quite notorious for writers going down there just to rob peoples paint, and I imagine a DSLR would be equally as tempting. Its normally fine, but I've had a few incidents down there.

OK, I had no idea. I've been there plenty of times with no trouble but not taking night shots in estates [another thing I need to do more of]. I'm quite happy to take an S90 to that kind of area but I'd be very wary and unconformable with a 5D.

To be honest, you'd probably be fine as long as you weren't painting yourself.. Its all part of the contest between other writers I guess for some.

If you want somewhere around Liverpool Street, head through Smithfield market and out the other side towards Brick Lane. Plenty of roads around there covered in graffiti.

I actually have a 40D :p - it's an 'in joke' in the photography forum lol :)
