Let's hear it for Ryanair

I had no money on me on a flight to Prague once, and they refused to give me even any tap water. I had to drink the tap, which was hot, in the toilet in the end.. I couldn't believe it.

All these people saying they think there is nothing wrong with them have gone mad. Yes they are a budget airline but when a man is denied his request for a glass of tap water on a flight, however cheap the flight may be is just wrong to me, he had no money on him. Surely they can up all flights by 20p to cover the cost of this.

Well its generally not too bad in my opinion. The fact I don't get an onboard sandwich and that there is a bit of a rush to get on the plane are made up for by saving £50 odd per flight.

The £10 card fee annoys me the most.

Never had a problem whatsoever with Ryanair or Easyjet. They serve a purpose and you pay a very low price which 99/100 cannot be beaten. You therefore shouldn't expect premium service.

A 4 and a half flight to/from Tenerife was a bit tedious but I made the best of it and got on with it. I'm not sure what some people expect when booking with a budget airline?

At this rate they will soon go out of business so we won't need to stress for long, lol.

They make like £400m per year profit. They aren't going bust anytime soon - in fact its more likely they will keep expanding given they are one of the worlds most profitable airlines.

I expect:

  • Polite staff
  • Punctuality (delay of up to an hour I can deal with)
  • Ease in baggage collection (I realise this is not completely in control of the airline)

With the exception of politeness (on EasyJet), I generally get neither of the other two when using EasyJet or RyanAir.

After flying regularly with Ryanair, easyjet and BMI baby, Ryanair is by far the best by a very long way. Ive had no end of problems with easyjet and BMI baby. Saying that BMI is head and shoulders above all three and ill fly with them when i can

I can tell you first hand that RyanAir is not a pleasant company to work for. The staff must pay for their own training, uniform and are pushed heavily for sales (a % of their pay comes from the takings). The hours are long and you are paid per flight, not per hour. If you are delayed for any reason then you won't be compensated in anyway, you have to deal with it. Not only that, but the staff are frequently abused and threatened. Not nice at all.

As for punctuality, that's a risk you take with any airline and I imagine in many cases this is out of their control.

You get what you pay for. I can cope with poor service if I can fly for next to nothing - saying that I've never had any problems with Ryanair.

I've flown with Ryanair for a long time but stopped once they started charging quite a bit for luggage BA actually became cheaper overall. Considering transport costs, food and time spent travelling to and from the airport BA comes out on top. For some reason Ryanair doesn't fly to Frankfurt Hahn from Glasgow in the summer:rolleyes:.

First time i was going to Ireland to meet GF's family and Ryanair lost my luggage :/ was not happy 1st time i had used Ryanair too. Not used em since
