Let's hear it for Ryanair

I can't believe they would choose to drive away customers by arresting someone over a sandwich. Although knowing Ryanair it probably cost more than the flight.

A lot of Ryanair flights aren't any cheaper than other airlines, take London to Madrid for example, £43.28 vs £57 for BA, add £50 in toilet fees and you're even.

Are you quoting RyanAir return vs BA one way here?

Just did a quote for mid September, BA is £57 each way, RyanAir is £46.98 all in return. Not really a good comparison?

I had no money on me on a flight to Prague once, and they refused to give me even any tap water. I had to drink the tap, which was hot, in the toilet in the end.. I couldn't believe it.

Shame they don't count as a restaurant/food service establishment. That'll be a £20k fine then, Michael.

Gets a bit silly when it takes the Police to quell unrest because a plane full of passengers have gone without water for six hours. A little quick thinking could have solved that one. I'm sure I heard that even the crew have to pay for water.

Joke of airline run by a total moron. They need to go bust soon. Half decent airlines like globespan should have survived instead of the ryanair cowboy outfit.

No friends?
Did you ask the passenger sitting next to you to lend you some?
Have you learned from your mistake?

Had a problem with one of the flights once, although I admit it was my fault for spelling the name wrong when buying it but the funny thing happened:

Called first person: No you can't change name, you have to buy a new ticket
Called second person: Yes you can change name for 50 pounds
Called 3rd person: No you can't change name anymore and you can't go on the flight.
Called 4th person: You can change name for 120 pounds.

By the time I gave up and just bought a new ticket as it costed less then 120 pounds anyway.

But yeah, sounds like the firm is run by a group of morons from CEO to call centers

I'd find that site more amusing if it didnt begin every single paragraph with "Ryanair, the worlds most hated airline...".

They're ok I guess. I don't use them often if better alternatives is available, but they are useful for a budget weekend away. My current favourite airlines is Austrian which I now use at least 6 times a year.

I used Ryanair on a recent trip to Italy.

I was pleasantly surprised, I payed the extra for quick boarding, so me and the gf got a good seat by the wing, on the way back we decided to have some food (hangover) and had a chili con carne each, some tea and some boxer chips.

Chili con carne was lovely, was one of those sourced food where they show you the farm on the back (organic aberdeen angus), tea was very good, crisps were nice also.

Staff were very friendly and efficient.

The only problem i've had with flying Ryanair is that 2/3 times there have been ****er passengers, cheering and shouting on landing and takeoff. They weren't even american..

Anyway, Ryanair not so bad. Lots of people who turn their noses up at it havn't actually flown with them. And if you don't like them, don't fly with them. Which I'm sure if they were that bad plenty of people would do...but wait, they still seem to be making plently of money.

I'm sure there are plenty of extreme cases from lots of airlines that we could all harp on about all day...meh, work beckons.

It's a **** airline for people who don't want to pay a lot of money. Doesn't mean people don't have a right to complain, you're exchanging money for goods and services.

Nothing really wrong them. People know what to expect, stop moaning / complaining. Dont fly with them if you dont agree with their principles. And yes, that man should be arrested because it's called "Theft".

It's ok to walk into a shop and steal a Mars Bar?
It depends whether he was complaining on the principle of paying for a sandwich on a flight = tit, or if he was complaining about the sandwich itself and refusing to pay for it, in which case obviously he had grounds to not pay. I don't think you can say either way without knowing the true story.

I've never flown with them, but that's not to say I wouldn't for a short hour/2 hour flight. Don't see it as greatly different from getting a 2 hour train/bus somewhere, except you're guaranteed a seat! Sure I'd rather get a virgin pendolino than a clapped out old train, but if it's costing me significantly less I can probably put up with it

Have never flown them and would avoid them where possible but you have to say there's no conspiracy or cover up with them. They really are very up front about the fact you will be charged for just about anything!

I have used them a few times for short hops into Europe. Flew to Latvia once no problems. Have also used EasyJet a few times.

Have never had a problem. Sure, you don't get food or water but you should have known this before you got on surely?

My only gripe is the budget carriers are getting stung really badly and the main carriers are not a lot more now.

Was just looking at a long weekend snowboarding in Geneva. Fly out Friday 17th December (early) and back Monday 20th (late) so can get 4 days on the slopes.

BA came in £12.00 more than EasyJet for the same time flights.

*edit* And just lol at some of those twitter posts. They all moan, yet I bet they still use them.

The thing is, its not theft. This is the same principle of of you go to a crappy restaurant. You don't pay for it but leave your name and address to settle the dispute at a later date. If you do this you aren't committing theft.
