From a novice point of view the LG has a better resolution, thus could arguably be better for games on a good PC? The Samsung is 120hz, therefore reduces screen tearing, so smoother than the LG but a lower rez. One aspect that concerns me is that I was ready to purchase the Samsung in Jan, but didn't. I can't help but notice that the price has not remotely dropped since Jan, so eight months later and the price is the same. Does this indicate that a price drop is imminent, also every other company has had 8 months now to develop a 120 hz 22 inch, are these soon to be released.

All in all, want to try and critique both monitors as much as possible, but I'm afraid I lack the knowledge to do so efficiently. In addition, I would like to know if there are any other 22 inch monitors better than the above.

Cheers.

Steve.

PS: Price difference is £85.

I'd avoid the samsung, as it is a very basic screen with pretty bad viewing angles and if you ever decide it go down the 3d vision route it ghosts like crazy with anything above default convergence

As you consider the viewing angels bad on the Samsung taking a deeper look. The viewing angles on the Samsung are 170/160, this seems to be very standard on the biggest majority of £100-£200 monitors. Therefore, I'd follow up on saying that the viewing angels are average for a 22inch monitor. Just trying to be very critical here as I can't find much information on this type of monitor, bar a thread or two.

the acer 23.6 inches is the best 3d screen, from what i looked up online, and that has some curious issues :(

I guess I am not looking for much in-terms of 3D, but more in terms of gaming performance and video quality. Just the information in very contradicting, it's hard to seperate fact from fiction (I've read that Blu-Rays are "buggy" on a 120hz monitor!). I think having the option to be able to game in 3D will be advantageous in a couple of years, when gaming gets to the point where games are efficiently developed to compliment 3D technology. Again must point out I am a novice here, don't put much weight into my opinion!

I have been very happy with my samsung 2233rz.Had a samsung 226bw[used on a second pc now] which had very low input lag,but the 2233rz is great for gaming with it's 120hz refresh rate and I couldn't go back ;)
