Anyone buying this today? Just seen a trailer and that looks good but I don't know much about it, seen it's being released in 3 hours on Steam.

Edit: Helps if I'm not a moron and actually take the time to check the official website, there's a demo on there. :S

From what I've read about it, seems to be a bit of a polished turd. Looks good but it's short with repetitive gameplay. Haven't tried it, there is a demo out I believe. First K+L game put me off though.

Now that its out of the way though, doesn't that leave the path clear for the development of hitman 5?

Sure I read that somewhere... :D

The first game was awful, bad story, terrible controls and just generally appalling.

I won't even waste time downloading the demo of the second one!

I guess im the first to love the series.

Loved the first one and the second one looks just as promising. Yes, the gameplay is linear like 90% of games, but its fun to play, and definatly so with a good friend at your side. Nothing like doing a bank hiest, or cop getaway. :D

Never had a framerate issue, nor any issues for that matter. Its just a fun game to play.

The first was ok, but it was shockingly badly put together in parts, some really really cheap/bland area's IIRC, though I could be thinking of the wrong game :p

I seem to remember some awful shooting out the back of a van bits, and some really dodgey aiming and cover mechanics, and just being somewhere between average and just bad.

Expect roughly the same, might be half decent for a few hours but not worth full game price, nor worth playing ever again. Is is the game where almost every level/set piece was stolen right out of several very well known films and was devoid of any new idea's at all.

Metacritic on the 1st, 65/100 not bad, user scored 2.8/10 though.

That sounds familiar, brief review on there basically says very very roughly put together game but some epic missions, like the bank robbery/escape, make it semi fun to play.

Just ignore the terrible, clunky combat. :)

I want to like the game but yeah, the combat isn't very intuitive. The cover system is a bit rubbish too. If you try holding down the "C" key and press "W" to move forward to the next cover point, all he does is jumps out of cover in that general direction and stands up straight. Usually ending up in a hail of bullets heading your way. Or am I doing it wrong?.

The camera sway stuff and strange lighting effects are a bit sickly as well. And what's with the pixelation censorship....lol?. They let you kill multiple enemies with lots of different weapons but think certain aspects of the game should be censored??!!. Is that just in the demo?. Come on - It's not Pokemon or Super Mario we are playing here, its Kane & Lynch!!. It doesn't strike me as a "bad" game but it's not great.

Also, anyone know how you take screenshots?. Tried PRT SCR then ALT Tabbing out of the game and opening MS Paint but when you do all it pastes is a black screen. Can't see a key in the key config assigned to it either?.

Demo is canny when u get to the streets with the ppl walkin about but the start was crap. Also apparently the gfx glitches are not glitches but supose to be that way which i hate.

The gfx tho when u get to them streets is fab tho the fov could be better. Really realistic gfx better than gta 4 and mafia 2 combined (on the streets bit mind u).

I duno if i will buy it tho. I only tried the demo cos something i read said it was a bit like bladerunner in its setting which the "streets" bit kinda reminded me of BR.

Few things annoyed me too but i cant recall the specifics as i played it about half a week ago now.
