Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days

Also, anyone know how you take screenshots?. Tried PRT SCR then ALT Tabbing out of the game and opening MS Paint but when you do all it pastes is a black screen. Can't see a key in the key config assigned to it either?.

I've had the same thing happen when trying to get a screenshot for the demo of Lost Planet 2. Normally pressing prt scr and using ctrl v in paint works fine.

Yeah, for some reason the next time I started the game up and tried the same method to take a screenie it worked just fine.

Metacritic on the 1st, 65/100 not bad, user scored 2.8/10 though.
I would ignore the user rating, though. That reeks of Teh interweb warri0rz angry that some bloke got fired one time. And they probably can't even spell his name.

Alert: Yes, I know this is a crass generalisation. This is the internet, so get used to it. :)

Still, at least they can finally start releasing details on Hitman 5. Seeing as the voice work has already been done, and this is typically one of the things that get done in the later stages of a games development, hopefully this will mean that the game is nearing completion. Spring 2011? Opleaseopleaseoplease.

Not impressed with this, they've somehow managed to take a game that kinda worked on some levels (namely epic gun fights in the street) and ruin it. Combat is a joke, really hard to take cover, enemies seem to have titanium skin (if you're more than a couple of yards away it takes like 2-3 full clips from an uzi to kill them).

The 'film style' is a nice touch but let down but the combat. Don't understand how they can have got it so wrong, the first game was far from perfect but at least fun to play :/

Gave it another go over the past couple of days and was able to complete it. Marginally better than my original assessment (fighting is ok once you get some decent assault rifles).

Still, it's hard to recommend as it's a short game that is very repetitive. Levels are highly linear, at times it almost feels like one of those on-rails shooters (Virtua Cop etc). Best bit is probably fighting your way through an office complex with helicopters hosing everything down through the window with minigun. But moments like that are too few and far between.

Finished it myself the other day (bought it in the xmas sale on Steam). I liked the first one, and always thought it was underrated.

Dog days though...it's is a dog that should have been put down before it was released. Poor story, uninspired dialogue, shockingly short, and just feels the same from start to finish. The first one had variety - pretty much every level was a different setting, yet its sequel just seems totally grey from start to finish with neon lights over the top every now and then.

When I finished it, it felt as if I'd reached the end of part 1 of a 3 part act. When people say a game is only five hours long, it'll normally take me 8-10 hours. I always take my time and explore everywhere I can, but checking on Steam, this literally was a 5 hour game.

At least it only cost a few quid.

^The point above about game length is quite telling actually - it only took you 5 hours compared to 8-10 hours because there is nothing in the game to make you want to explore. You just feel like rushing through as quickly as possible. Plus it is like a Call of Duty game, extremely linear; you have to follow a set path through the city so no scope to go wandering off or skirt round a particular section.

Dunno how long it took me, I'm quite a slow gamer.... 7hrs maybe? Which makes it longer than the likes of Crysis Warhead, CoD Modern Warfare 2 etc, but still fairly short.
