I got a broken g25 wheel. One day it locked itself to the right and stopped working since then. Now my question is whats the better option to buy.
1) 911 GT3 RS +plus adapter for g25 pedals
or
2) G27

They are roughly the same price but wouldn't mind trying the fanatec as im quite peeved that a £170 wheel would die on me after 13 months.

The wheel will be used for ps3 and pc. Getting ready for gt5

Have you tried contacting Logitech? They have a reputation for replacing items even if they are out of warranty. One such example would be my Z-5500 speakers, 3 years old (1 year warranty) and they gave me a brand new set for free when they started humming.

Snap, sent a brand new set out to me aswell.
Definitely contact Logitech!!

picked up my logitech Driving force GT yesterday but unsure if i should have gone for a fanatec 911 Carrera plus paddles?!

argh decisions too hard.

It's a pretty big should you've got there. The Fanatec + pedals cost like... three times as much don't they?

The GT is a great wheel, just be happy with your purchase.

I would but i openned it to have a look so don't know if they'll help, i will give it a go.

Maybe some of the guys here can tell you how Logitec dealt with their returns. For instance was a replacement sent out without testing the returned one? If so then you havnt much to worry about opening it.

Their is quite a large modding community for G25 so Id estimate you could make a few quid off selling this even damaged. Its got to be worth £60 with pedals and maybe more to someone needing/wanting spares or modding.

Thier has been an issue with the G25/G27 wheel adapter even since beta stage that sometimes the G25/G27 pedals on some games and GT5P being one were the brake sticks at about 5%. The only way to release it is to give the bake pedal a tap. However this is far from ideal and can ruin your lap. It aso seems to happen at random. Now I believe thier is a newer shaped adapter available but I cant confirm if this also has this issue or has fixed it so maybe raise the question on a specific forum suited to sim racing.

The latest drivers and new feature the Fanatec wheel offer make it a much better wheel, based on the wheel over a G27/G25. Ive always had the opinion that the standard Fanatec pedals are not as good as Logitecs. However the Clubsports are regarded by just about everyone as better. Stega a guy on GTP forums bought the $200 brake mod for his G27 and he still maintains the CSP are better with their upgrade kit. Im also not a massive lover of either brands shifters, too toy like and usually drive with the wheels own paddles.

Its actually possible to use a joystick as controller no.2 acting like a sequential shifter on GT5 similar to the one on the Logitech DF-GT wheel. Consider this if you have one and for some cars you may like the sequential.

Personally
I would sell off your damaged G25 and buy a GT3S V2 with CSP pedals. I base this on having more features, a more precise wheel and that Alacantara leather is much more comfortable. Also the pedlas are much more adjustable. Take it all into account and for the little extra this would cost over the G27 I think its hard not to see the benifits for the difference in price. Now if the G27 was £180 it would be harder to weigh up the benifits to that price point. The 27 in my own opinion is overpriced in comparison.

Additionally
Fanatec will have a Clubsport based Shifter arriving next year but its going to take a while in coming being Fanatec.

Sorry its a long reply but well hope it helps.

For me all I did was call the customer support and tell them that my Z5500's wouldn't turn on. They asked what I had done to try and fix it which I replied with changed the fuse on both the plug and the sub-woofer and that was it, I received a new set of speakers within a week. The old set is now in the loft.

I have the Turbo S wheel which is basically the same as the GT3 far as I know, bar it being all leather and has x360 support. I did have a G25 before hand and its a far superior product imo (the Fanatec that is), from what I understand the G27 isnt much different to the G25. And its over priced considering G25s went for £99 at one point :/

Stock pedals are crap mind you, defo getting the club sport for when GT5 ships.

Thanks for reply its what i needed to know. I'll settle for the first option i had and if the pedal issue is to bad i'll get the clubsport pedals.
Thanks again Mr Latte

mr latte what do you know about the fanatec carrera? i bought a DFGT the other day but havent opened it or used it yet. the fanatec carrera isnt much more expensive, id be tempted to swap if it was vast improvment?

It should be arriving by October but no date has been confirmed yet.
Do remember this model is not belt driven so will be a bit noiser and perhaps not as precise. The feel and even FFB I would think may be below that of the more premium products. SRT have shown it off a little but those that have it in a Beta model have been testing them for more than 2 months now.

Thomas/Fanatec know to release this at a price point that fits well in between the DFGT and G27. Also beating other wheels like the Ferrari/Thrustmaster set. Fanatec seem to be pitching it directly at people that want sim quality features but at a more affordable price point.

The main improvements over a DFGT will be again the options the wheels offer in settings. Personally one example I like is being able to set the FFB directly on the wheel in realtime and not have to rely on navigating back to changing game options. The drift mode and being able to dial in wheel rotation manually along with being able to save presets is neat. None of these features are offered on other wheels and really I see this as the products main highlights.

The other main benifit for some will be having clutch support and a H shifter available unlike the DFGT. Also the wheel rim used for the Carerra will be the same shape as that of the GT3 RS without the Alacantara but this is the comfiest shape with a deeper thumb groove. As for cons well Fanatec service may be slower to that of Logitechs and personally their clamping system on their wheels aint great. I recommend hard mounting or their wheel clamp which is solid and heavy for a desk.

As for the DFGT wheel its a good product certainly better than Microsofts X360 wheel but the only features I see it having as a benifit for GT5 is the dial for the realtime settings and the illuminated horn button.

The Carerra wheel will get a high score on SRT ratings as I know Darin/Sean like the product and its going to fit right into their bang / buck ratings scale.
Delphic Reason on GTP might be able to tell you a bit more as hes been testing one for sometime but most beta testers were under agreement not to do reviews until authorised.

I have a GT3 RS and had a G25, the GT3 is fantastic. Mostly love the soft alcantara rim, but otherwise a solid buy. I would buy the GT3 alone and maybe look to modding the pedals you have (and if you don't want to, I'd consider buying the pedals from you...)

can you only get the Porsche 911 GT3 RS V2 wheels direct from fanatac ? ,they seem to be out of stock at the moment,
and for anyone one who's got the gt3 rs v2 wheel ,why is there such a big price difference between the clubsport edition and the normal gt3 rs .
are the ClubSport Pedals that expensive or am i missing something
