Got one on my i7 930 and its making buzzing noise from pump 100% sure its from pump because i lowered rpm in speedfan to under 1200 and noise stopped.

My motherboard an Asus P6X58D-E pump on chassis fan with chassis Q fan control disabled for full rpm and Akasa viper on rad in cpu fan slot. I sit with pc under desk and its quite audible and will change levels depending on load which can be annoying.

Does it need rma i read previous post on here and it seems that some people sent it back only to be told it fine all conflicting reports really. Also i read that noise can go in a week or it a trapped air bubble and flick of wires can cure it tried this and heard water moving but no different.

I read somewhere (can't remember where, probably here) that if you mount the pump with the tubes at the top the bubbles will get sucked through and get left in the radiator, the bubbles 'may' be causing the noise, always worth a try.

I had this for the first few weeks, it's gone now though, didn't actually do anything to make it go away :)
I bought one from a different e-tailer and it was the same.
I rma-ed it and they said it was fine which i was not happy with but on the plus side they send me my old one back and a day later another one arrived:eek::D

@ OP
If the buzzing is as bad as it was for me on both of them i would look into an rma.
I started the process with corsair who straight away said send it back but wasnt worth the hassle for me as shipping from Ireland to wherever it had to go to in europe was sillly money.

I tried lowering the volts to it but made no difference.
What speed is it showing in speedfan? (mine where about 1400rpm i think)
Have you tried using a different mobo header just to make sure its at full speed and not running as pwm?

Had it in chassis now in pwr same noise lowered rpm in speedfan to about 60% and noise stopped straight away only thing is speedfan borked to rest of system so have to be careful so i unninstalled it.

Edit: Speedfan and CpuidHwmonitor both fluctuate between 1360-1406 rpm

At moment i have Q fan running with it and Viper fan plugged into CPU fan socket the pump not controlled by Q fan as its on PWR and when it was on chassis Q fan disabled. Only reason i enabled Q-fan with viper because if disable it 1900 rpm of noise im running stock and temps are 40 degrees idle on 930 with 800-1000 rpm. (will ramp under load)

I'm on my third H50 now due to the pumps buzzing and sure enough the latest one has the same problem.

Each one I sent back was tested and the store agreed that the buzzing sound was not acceptable and just labelled them as faulty, but each brand new one they've sent back has been the same.

I'm tired of rma'ing so I'm just sticking with this one and just trying to get used to it.

bad batch maybe?...who knows.
