So lunch is coming up, which for me usually requires a trip into town to the sandwich shop. Its a lovely sandwich shop, but sometimes I get a bit bored of my cycle of sandwiches.

What do you have, is it shop brought or home made (and how easy to make), and roughly how much do you spend a day?

Today I will mostly be eating a Chicken Tikka + lettuce baguette - £2

I usually either bring a sandwich/leftovers from home (<£1), buy a sandwich on the way in (~£5) or see if someone wants to go to lunch (<£10), e..g local noodle bar (2 courses, £5). I'm quite fickle though, sometimes I'll just skip lunch and have a banana or apple.

We have a Greggs right beside our work. In the morning i always get 2 Link sausage rolls and a bottle of coke ( £4 )

Then i usually go around at lunch and get a baguette and more juice ( Another £4 ).

Bring my own food

Monday I had Sushi
Yesterday and Today are leftover BBQed Chicken from the BBQ I had Monday evening
Tomorrow will be either Tuna or Grilled Chicken

Usually go to a sandwich shop called Munchies. Generally have plain chicken or chicken tikka with lettuce and cucumber in a soft white bap. Sometimes I will change to a chicken escalope (warmed through), and then sometimes they do chicken/bacon/ham/cheese/mushroom mixes (usually 2 or 3 of them mixed), which are good.

Average price is £3.40

At University I usually go to one of the following :D

1. Subway - Italian BMT/Steak and Cheese or whatever I fancy + Cookie + Drink :)
2. Greggs - Water + Chicken Caesar Wrap (They are lovely!)
3. Corner Shop for a packet of Fridge Raiders Chicken + The oddest looking drink (Whatever is the most colorful wins!):D
4. Just go home and wait for dinner :P <--Usually wins

Usually "leftovers" from previous evening meals which have been frozen. Failing that, a sandwich/burger/soup/pasta/pizza from whichever local food establishment.

Trying not to **** money up the wall though, buying lunch everyday is expensive.

Yes please.

The chicken was the best I've ever had as well, went to Morrisons for the first time (it's 20 miles away) and bought pork rib rack and chicken breast ... and wow, both taste amazing.

As did the Salmon side I bought to make Sushi :)

Frankie & Bennies
Chiquitos
Pizza Hut
McDonalds
Nando's

All within spitting distance so never the same thing twice!

Roast boar washed down with a tankard of ale.

Edit: No more than £5 a day, so usually Sandwich of some sort, crisps sometimes, drink. Maybe even some fruit!
It's expensive to eat around here :( - Central London

Home made sandwhich with Warburtons seeded batch (not what I call it, but that's its official name, and it's possibly the nicest bread I have ever had).

I used to take in sandwiches and crisps etc as its a fraction of the cost of buying them in town. I work from home now so can have anything really but tend to have soup, salad or bung something in the microwave. This morning I popped out and got one of the Rustler type burgers as I feel like something unhealthy \o/

I go to my mums for lunch (free food!) we only get 30mins as theres nothing around us to do at lunchtime. Totally depends what food I can raid from the fridge as to what I eat.

It's lunchtime now for me, based in Histon I walk up to the Tesco and get myself a sandwich for ~£2, I always bring a couple of cereal bars for during the day. Failing that I'll just make a meat-based sandwich, today is chicken and coleslaw, still going to walk to Tesco and potentially treat myself though, oh the temptation.

Lunch is just one of those things that can become annoyingly expensive too easily. When I'm in the Bury St Edmunds office I generally spend about £5, for shame.
