Hey guys,

To cut a long story short, SOMEHOW my sisters rabbit got into my room, and thought it would be funny to chew through my headset wire amongst others..

That was a Creative Fatality jobby, as seen here:

Meaning that I am headsetless for now.. (yesterday)

Popped online and quickly purchased a Roccat Kave 5.1 thingy so that I could regain full use of my PC for today. (Dont worry, she is footing the bill ;))

Thing is.. this is far from practical having such a short cable from the remote to the actual headset, so if you stand up, half your desk comes with you so to speak..

The headset itself is pretty heavy, so any sharp movements of the head, or laying down it falls off or moves into an uncomfortable position.

Also, it hisses, I hate having interference, but I just cannot seem to shift it! Ive only owned it for a good 5 hours and its driving me nuts!

When the USB connection is unplugged it goes, so its probably that?

Soundwise its pretty good, drowns out a lot of outside noise, and sounds awesome in BC2!

Im looking to get rid of this (already, I know) and going for something like this:

Orrrrrrrr..

Ideally looking for a 3.5mm jack headset, as I dont want to waste anymore USB ports :P.

Any thoughts anyone?

Anybody have a good headset they would like to let me know about so I could have a looksie?

Any help would be greatly appreciated ;)

Literally half way along the cable.

Not fixable unfortunately :(, despite the father being a sparkie

EDIT: Plus, I want to spend her money as a punishment for letting it out anyway ;)

I don't, but I know there are people on these forums that do. They are a very good headset, which have very good sound quality. They have the same drivers (speakers) as Sennheiser's HD555 headphones. The HD555's are regarded by many as being great sounding headphones, so for a headset to use the same drivers as good quality headphones is a nice change. Many people who have good quality headphones, often say how poor most headsets are for sound quality in comparison to a decent pair of headphones. Normally headsets are aimed at gamers who have no idea, or do not have a care about good sound quality, so when the Carcharias's appeared and sounded as good as a decent pair of headphones, many people were quite surprised.

What's more, the Carcharias appear to be cheaper than the HD555's, and they have a decent microphone too. So you get the same decent sound, and a good mic aswell for less. Can't be bad. :)

Cheers mate,

Been reading some reviews and they look pretty good!

As soon as my RMA on the Kave goes through I think ill buy a set :).

Hmmm my Kave`s dont hiss. Try wiggling the wire that goes from the PC to the volume box.

Tried that when I got home yesterday and still nothing! hmm
