I have a old Dell Dimension 3000 computer and I want a new graphics card to play a few games on the computer.

I have researched a little bit but some people say you can have this and then some tell me something completely another story.

What graphics cards can I get with this computer?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Sam

you could get a PNY 8400 GS 512MB PCI if it has a spare pci slot which it should but it all depends what you want to play.

If you want to play reasonably new games you may want to look at doing a few more upgrades.

And here is the minimum specification for Call of Duty modern warfare 2

System Requirements
OS: Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 (Windows 95/98/ME/2000 are unsupported)
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 3200+ processor or better supported
Memory: 1 GB RAM
Graphics: 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT or better or ATI Radeon 1600XT or better
DirectX: Microsoft DirectX(R) 9.0c
Hard Drive: 12GB of free hard drive space
Sound: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
Internet: Broadband connection required for Multiplayer Connectivity. Internet Connection required for activation

It would probably cost you something in the region of £200 - £300

You would need more or less a whole new PC to meet that minimum spec

Xbox is your cheapest route but i can try and do a spec

Its up to you, I think that is the cheapest way. Or you could wait and save up slightly more for something that would last longer

You'd need an OS and a monitor as well. Assuming you got those, the total cost wouldn't be that high. If you had some more posts (250 to be precise) I would point you to the MM. There are some great systems going for less than £250.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I think that's what I want.

And yes got the OS and a good monitor so happy days.

If you've got some more money, you can always upgrade some parts. I was trying to cut as much as possible without sacrificing on the performance.
