The memory you selected is triple channel and meant for LGA1366 boards. LGA1156 can only take double channel so I would select this memory:
And use the savings towards the Xigmatek Utgard case which is fantastic. Here is a review of it on bit-tech

Also I would suggest an nvidia card as the gtx 460 is pretty good. It has equivalent performance to the 5850 in most cases as well as being cheaper, if you go for it then get a card with 1gb of memory like this Asus one if you want to overclock, or the Zotac if you want 5 years' warranty. That way you can sell the card on in 2 years time to fund your next upgrade, and it will still be in warranty.

but TBH this case have very nice cooling and very good reviews.
The comments are the triple channel memory are technically incorrect; you can run whatever DDR3 RAM you want on a socket 1156 motherboard, just that if you buy triplets of sticks it won't run in triple channel, you'll get 2x dual channel and 1x single channel. But best just to get a two stick kit tbh.

Yeah there's not much in it between the cases it's just aesthetic preferences really. There is a difference when compared to a cheap case like the Asgard though xD

Other options for cases you could look at would be:
Coolermaster 690 II dominator
Antec Dark fleet - if you like butt-ugly
Lancool PC-K62 - little bit more expensive and there have been some issues with manufacturing quality - however - it is still a very nice case

Antec 300 is a superb case for the money (£46.99). I'm stoked with mine. Read the OCUK comments/reviews of it and you will see 50 (the max) comments about it. Yes so its the ford focus of cases, but ask yourself why its so popular, we can't all be wrong.
+1 for the Nvidia 460 card suggestion. Oh and if you are happy overclocking yourself, buy the parts separately from the bundle, you will save yourself a couple of quid.
The Gskill dual channel 12800 ram is the stuff you need, I think its about £88 for 4gb atm. 4gb would be fine for now as well. Oh and dont forget a sata optical drive (£13ish)

its a common know problem, the recent batches of cheaper OCZ gold have be known to have issues.

Yeah I've been reading about it... That's a disappointment, both bad power supplies and bad memory?
The mobo's fine, I would not suggest putting a card like the 470 which runs very hot in a small case like the 300 however.
z0lt, its not the best motherboard tbh, its one of the worst gigabyte ones tbh.
get the H55 instead, it lacks crossfire, but is better at overclocking and cheaper.
as ur goign for nvidia, the lack of crossfire doesn't really make much difference anyways.
if you want a p55 board, the asus will be better, but it costs
more

I disagree, H55 is better oveclocking the dual core processors. What makes you say that the P55M-UD2 is bad?
OK so what would be the best motherboard then? Around £100.
Also what would be better in your opinion, to get the gtx 470 and leave it at that, or get the gtx 460 now and possibly buy a second one to SLI in a say 4 -5 months time? Would there be a huge difference in performance now if i buy the 460 vs the 470 until the SLI upgrade? Because i know that 2x460 SLI is a powerhouse so I'm just wondering...

the SLI option would work out more expensive.
as u'll need to spend more on the motherboard, the £100 ones dont do SLI

if ur thinking of sli either way, then u'll need a board like that anyways.
a 460 should be able to handle most things, and 460's in SLI are insanely good.
