GCSE results

I'm waiting and I'm not nervous at all. Wasn't through the exam period either. I want to know what i got in English (as i worked extremely hard in that) especially as our teacher marked work harshly. I won't be ringing my parents (who will be at work, they will want me too) haha

well at least yours is better than my file server in my room... pentium 3 @ 650mhz / 256mb ddr / nvida riva 32mb / some sort of networking card and a beige case. joy ;)

I'm in the same situation, i'm in top set for almost all of my classes but i still question if i've passed all of them. It's timing that's the problem for me, both in the exam and in doing revision but i'm not majorly worried, i can always resit them and they're GCSEs - they don't really matter much anyway.

Same boat, don't worry I think we can do retakes next year, as long as you do well in 2 of the 4 subjects, or however many you are doing.

Doing 4. Though I have too high standards and consider anything that's not an A a disappointment - others might not feel the same about that...

I've already got 2 backup plans if things don't go well.

Don't worry at all. GCSE's aren't very important in the grand scheme of things, they just show that you have the aptitude to progress to college and beyond. 5 is all you need.

It depends to be honest. For example, if you want to study medicine at Birmingham, they only interview people with at least 8 A*s.

So in general A Levels are more important, but in situations like this, GCSE's do matter.

I never quite understood the reward for doing well in exams, for me I did well because I wanted to get to college, and then did well to get to uni and have the 3 best years of my life!

Saying that I did get bought my Athlon 1100 and mobo by my parents that summer for working hard that year, but regardless of results, maybe I'm a hypocrite!

I got a D for my GCSE English when a C was required, was not too bad: they gave me a re-sit of the class which took 1 hour per week during my sixth form studies. I did a re-sit and got my English to a B.
