OK the mis matched furniture colour in the room is finally friving me and the wife crazy, black computer, monitor etc etc and a black ash 400 litre fish tank. Then this walnut computer desk is doing out heads in so it needs to go and need to replace it with a black ash one!

I've looked but can't find anything that meets the size requirements i want which are :
depth 70cm
height 70-80 cm
width 160cm

I need something this size cause the current desk is this size and pretty full on top with xbox,ps3,monitor,tower(haf 932),mice,keyboard,g13,speakers,phone

Mikael from Ikea ticks the boxes.

Your other option would be to look at the Viking or Galant desk systems from Ikea - cheap legs and just cut a length of top as required. Very low budget way to get a large sturdy desk.

The only way you're going to get exactly what you want is to build it yourself or to pay someone to do it for you. Failing that you will have to compromise on size, cost or both.

Should i have mentioned I've been a joiner and kitchen fitter for 11 years?

Just sheer lazyness really and the fact i've been utterly unable to locate any 35mm thick black worktop until someone suggested ikea why i forgot about ikea i have no idea maybe because i've never actually shopped their at all.

Do ikea sell the edging (laminate) strips for their worktops so you can cut them down and re-edge them? I want it to look neat hence why i wanted a pre-built one as the unti will be open at both ends as it sits central in the wall.

hi,

what have you got planned for your old desk? im looking for a walnut desk. got any pics?

This one will probably be going upstairs in the master bedroom not sure yet but will let you know. Won't be for a few weeks mind as i'm decorating the house and this room is last on the list
