Okay, I have 2 5870's in crossfire, gpu-z can see 2 GPU, the ATI CC sees 2 gpu, I have checked all the settings time and time again but only one of my cards is ever under load, this is really disturbing me as one is sitting idle at 0% load doing naff all, anyone got any suggestions for what I can do to test it

While under 2D mode, the second card in a crossfire setup will be deactivated and not used for anything so your PC uses less power. Once you switch to a 3D game, both cards will work in crossfire.

I am using heaven and kombustor to generate load which is the equivalent of a 3d engine and still 0% load, one card sits at 100% load 900/1200 and the other contributes nothing to the party!

Kombuster doesnt work with dual card setups, not even with the multi GPU setup. It will only stress the first card, at least I cant get it to work either.

With heaven, what score do you get with crossfire enabled, and disabled?

Ok, theres something wrong then.

Does it definately say that crossfire is enabled in GPU - Z? Not just that it detects 2 GPUs, it needs to say 'Enabled '2 GPUs' in the crossfire box.

Im sure you've already tried reinstalling the latest drivers, but maybe try the latest ones that you can get from MSI's website, not the standard ATI ones.

Just done a clean install with 10.7 as I updated my system to SSD, I have tried reinstalling the driver after doing un-install, still no joy with it, im gonna take the two cards out tonight and swap them around and reseat and try that, I currently only have 1 bridge installed should I put both on?

Give it a try but from what I've read it makes no difference. Are you sure your motherboard is Crossfire enabled? Check your motherboards manufacturer page and see if there's any BIOS updates.

fixed, swapped the cards nothing changed, swapped the crossfire bridge nothing changed, uninstalled 10.7 rebooted put 10.4 on and boom it works like a charm, same settings as above the rating is 3999!
