Audi a4 probs again guys

Now its chucking out gray smoke when engine is warm from exhaust, even when idel, we thought 1 of the cylinder heads might be going cos its using quite a lot of water aswell, but its been using water for ages. A guy had a look at it but there weren't any symptoms that it was the cylinder and it drives fine and doesnt got hot at all. My parents were even towing a 1.1ton caravan when then exhaust started chucking out gray smoke.

So tomorrow were going to get it pressure tested, and pray its not the cylinder head. You guys got any ideas what could be wrong?

Yeah thats what we think too, accept there's no other symptoms accept its using water and chucking out gray smoke.

Oil cooler?
once looked at a vectra v6 sri that had that problem - there was no mayo in the oil filler cap, but the coolant expansion tank was full of it.

I've also seen brake fluid get into the engine via a duff vacuum diaphragm = mahoosive clouds of acrid white smoke on acceleration.

Depends where the head gasket has gone. Maybe its leaking water into one of the cylinders hence the grey (white) smoke which will be steam lol and the usage of lots more water.
You dont always get water in the oil etc.

2.5, v6 TDi diesel

Went to the garage today, Im not sure if it had a pressure test, but still no one knows why its chucking out light gray smoke. The guy says its more fuel thats coming out of the exhaust, so its having a new fuel and air filter, to see if that solves the prob

yup.

£2 says youve popped a boost hose or a breather hose that is exposed to boost hence the boost leak and over fuel

Well its now got a new air and fuel filter now, apparently the air filter was quite manky and now it will do 70mph in 3rd gear and it was a lot less before. Now we will just have to see if it clears over the next few days.

Well its still chucking out light gray smoke when its warmed up, so I think we are going to get rid of it.

Outcome doesn't compute, car is slighty broken so lets spend 8k plus buying something else.

last yr for its mot it cost over £800 and if the cyinder head is going, thats over £1000 to fix. We bought the car for £1500, so its not really worth spending another 1000 on it.
