As it stands, I have an Antec 900 case, and its a mess. Its the original one, so no dust filters, meaning every so often I need to take the case out and blast it with an air compressor, and there's no real cable management, its not got holes for stuff to go behind the motherboard tray, and I did consider dremmeling out some, but the main PSU cables wouldn't have had enough room to fit between the tray and the case side, so that's been out of the question. Also, the fan speed controls are on tiny little wires inside the case, which is useless and means they never have their speeds changed. Them being accessible means I could lower the speeds overnight and turn them up when gaming, for example.

But its almost student loan time again, which means some money to squander on a new case which will hopefully address these niggles.

I'm not opposed to moving up to a full tower case, as it usually means more room for fans and better cooling in general. I must admit to looking at the Antec DF-85. Not the prettiest case around, but I do prefer function over aesthetics, and it seemed to have ample cooling and good cable management solutions. But I'm not too clued in with cases other than those by Antec. I'd say I can stretch to around £130, maybe a little more, but only if its really worth it.

As I said, I'm more after functionality over aesthetics, good cooling and cable management, and I'm not against a full tower case.

Why not go for an Antec 902 its good cable spaces with good access and filters or if you want to push boat out a little more than £130 (say £150) how about a Coolermaster ATCS 480.

I've not looked lots into the 902 as I've assumed that there will be the similar lack of space behind the motherboard tray, so cable routing will be problematic again. Not so sure about the 1200 though, that may be better.

The Phantom does look like a very good choice, my only slight issue would be the lack of dust filters on the front.

Hmm, I'm not too sure on the top of that case. Having to remove the top of it so the fan can actually work? It looks kinda messy.
And the lite looks kind of... lacking on the fan front, somewhat.

At the moment, I think I'm still looking at that Phantom, maybe I could mod some dust filters in or something :3

what do you mean ? the top has a grill ?
i'd defo get the hafx or the corsair over any nzxt case

At 1 minute in on the vid on the product page, you essentially remove part of the top of the case to reveal the fan? That just looks rather messy and pointless.

The HAF X does look like a very nice option, the only two slight problems I'd have with it are the price and the fact that cooling wise, it seems on par with the darkfleet? At least going by bit-tech's review of it, and the Darkfleet is £15 cheaper. Its not as good looking, but the CPU cooling is better, and I've never really done any graphics card overclocking, so the HAF X's slightly better GPU cooling isn't so important to me.

I have an Antec 1200 and what a case, its huge. Plenty if room, cable management is a doddle and its one if the best, if not the best air cooling case you can get. Costs about £112. You won't be disappointed.

That top part is a mesh... It allows air through, acts as a dust filter.

Ooh, sorry! thought it was solid plastic from that video, that makes loads more sense :D

maforduk, how much room is there between the back of the motherboard tray, and the side of the case? In my 900 there is very little room, certainly not enough for my mobo power cables to fit behind. Looking at the dimensions:

900: 49.3cm x 20.6cm x 46.8cm (L x W x H)
1200: 51.3 x 21.3 x 58.2 cm

Its only 7mm wider, and I'm assuming most of this will be added to the main insides of the case, rather than behind the tray?
