Too late to buy Crysis?

I am about to recieve my new system mostly for MMO/RPG.
I have a gtx 460 and 955BE. I would like a good FPS so i can see what my system can do.
I dont want any cross platform shooters just a PC specific game. I have never played Crysis but i am guessing this would be the best to get to show me what my system can do. I was just wondering if the online side of things(crysis and crysis warhead) is still popuar.
I have come from PS3 and 360 and to be honest when most games come out on those systems within a few months peope have generally switched to the next game so there is never any longevity in online FPS unless its COD etc.
Any advice appreciated.

I played through it fully for the first time recently and realy enjoyed it.

I'm sure it can be had very cheap now so why not??

I've just got it new for £4.99. It's basically Far Cry but with slightly better graphics. I'm not over impressed so far with single player.

Yes it's well worth it, great game and still probably the best looking one out there.

e: Oh maybe I didn't read the OP properly. I wouldn't bother buying it for online only, it's fun for a few hours or so but you probably won't play it much longer than that. I'd buy it for single player.

I remember Far Cry with probably too much fondness though!

Mind you, I still remember Tir Na Nog having 'great' graphics on the Spectrum!

Just playing it again with my sli and maxed it looks awesome and is much more fun with a decent frame rate.

Actually, it was £6 delivered from the well known store (online entertainment) rhyming with Alfresco!

It was Assassins Creed DC that I picked up for £4.99.

Only just clocked the original 2 days ago, now I'm onto Warhead.

I played it on easy though as I though the Ai was in Nanosuits on Normal and above.

If you play it, go for the hardest difficulty - it's much more fun.

Nope, still too early, I reckon Crysis came from the future or something. Even a GTX 460 will struggle to run it.

If you turn farcry up to max settings and crysis down to absolute lowest everything then it is only slightly better

You can get farcry for free now I think plus I liked that game for working on mx440 but if you have an embarrassment of riches gfx wise then slightly is slightly wrong
