Has anybody heard of any magic way to get at the Macbook bios?
Macbook Pro Duo 2006 - doesn't boot, white light comes on next to front latch panel.
I don't think that the board is dead, but it's not exactly healthy. The most reliable method to switch it on has been a sharp tap on the space bar (or the case underneath the space bar). Now it no longer boots into OS.
From general reading, it seems that the bios is stored on the hard drive (no life at all unless this is connected).
I have the internal drive hooked up to another machine - is there any way to access and/or reset the bios via this method?
Alternatively, any suggestions for resurrecting the laptop itself? PRAM/SMC resets don't work. Can't boot beyond a black screen and hard drive initialization. Drive itself if fine...
Thanks for your input.
