HTC Hero, coming July on Orange and T-Mobile, makes me want!

shames its a full wipe as im now using titanium to redo over 100 apps lol, if only it would install without asking each time.

also, it feels a lot smoother than the last rom so far.

Edit: also just found out rebooting, gives you the choice now to reboot into recovery :D

sweet just formated my sd and removed old ext partition + it got rid of all the old rom junk and app data that i had been saving for no reason lol (backed up 1st)

reading nippo's change log was entertaining looks like hes getting froyo really polished now
 
Wow, the WiFi has been really been sucking the juice from my phone, it's always been left on until 2.1 now if I leave it on the battery empties in an hour or two.
 
sinny have you got anything constantly using the wifi? ad ive had mine on all day and currently @44% which isnt too bad you need to have a look how often things are getting updates and how much data your pulling down

back to the 1.3.0
the option to add media controls to the lock screen is an awesome addition and the hardware volume keys work whilst the phone is locked

and the option to set the install dir to the sd card so you dont have to mess around in the application settings and manualy move the apps often breaking widgets it just installs everything to sd nice

I'll check it out, I use Watchdog 3G don't know if thats the drainer.

i havent even looked into those options yet lol, i had a really strange problem, took my phone out of my pocket last night and it was really hot, the screen was on but wouldnt respond, so i had to pull the batt then it wouldnt turn on till after i plugged it in to charge.

i leave it today to see how it goes. then try a lower speed kernal.

aww dude that sucks hope it hasnt left any longterm damage

just found out that widgets still break when installed on the sd after mount or reboot there must be a fix for this
 
so far so good today, i have been playing with the villianmods settings, ive tried to chasnge the info bar at the top to black, but it wont, the clock has been changed fine.
 
OK can anyone help me with this situation...

about to buy a HTC Hero for my wife as she likes my desire, the Hero is on 1.6 and locked to Tmobile. so i kinda wanna unlock and upgrade, what will be my best option? people have mentioned codes on ebay, but can i do the gold card route?

the hero should be on either 1.5 or 2.1 if its been updated, 1.6 never got to the hero, there are codes you can buy on ebay that will unlock your phone, but updating is free, it just downloads over wifi or mobile net.

sorry my mistake, yeah it will be 1.5 then and locked to tmob, i will be using on o2. so are the codes from ebay the only route? or is there a gold car method?
 
Just updated to 1.4 without a wipe and everything seems to be working. Had to pull the battery when first boot hung, but started fine after that.
 
Just installed 1.4.1 now and waiting for it to boot up. Theres too many ROM releases in the past week or so, I went from every version of Froyd from 1.1.1 to the most current one. Its getting a little annoying having to wipe and reinstall everything... but i want the best :P
