That second one of Aus is crazy :o and the forth is just =/
Nice sky in Indonesia aswell. Hope you had a good time :)

Did you work as you travelled? Video of the manta would be cool!

Certainly did in IMO its part of the fun , you get to meet new people and expreince some cool stuff. For example I worked at V8 touring cars at the casino in Darwin , one of the best seats in the house and getting paid 20 quid a hour for serving some casino Execs beer etc

Wow. Nice one!

I wish I had the balls to travel alone like that.

Its as easy as saving some money and booking the flight you will always always meet people. I think I had a low 2 weeks in total from a 18 month holiday. Sure most people feel low for a total of 2 weeks in everday life.

I'll try and upload the video to clued up on youtube though

Guessing you were unemployed before you went out then? 18 months is quite a long time.

So you did 12 months in Aus and 6 in Ind? Did you start out with any sort of plan?

[youtube ] [ /youtube] without the spaces and the number after the "=" in the url inbetween them.

Yes no job just a CV smartish clothes and a smile ;) I planned to follow the sunshine , and that is the truth. I started in Perth moved on from there in may (started out in Feb 09) travelled up the west cost to Broome , then based myself in Darwin for 8months and Took 2 x 4 week holidays down the East coast.

The money and job in darwin was just to good to pass by and the people who worked there were fine with me taking time off etc etc. then I had 8 weeks in Indo , 8 weeks in Thailand which I thought was okish and then 8 weeks in Taiwan .

How easy was it to get a work visa for all the places you visited?

Me personally found it easy , I chose to work in bars etc good money and good hours if you like the sunshine:)

i just tried to think out of the box in big cities , I.e in perth forgot the backpacker areas , I went to a suburb's of perth victoria park and things like that.

As for tourist places I.e Darwin I just got there a month or so before the main season started spent a day handing Cv's out and got offered over 4 jobs over the next week or so

I found the trick was to talk to them about other anything and just sound happy to be there and they tend to remember you from the other 15 Cv's they will have on there desk :p

Remember in Australia they pay top wages for bar/bottleshop jobs so can easily save money very quickly

I meant how easy was it to get the work visa, rather than the work itself :)

How did they contact you? Email? Or I guess you had an Australian mobile/phone line handy?

I've been thinking about a working holiday for a while.
