Which £2500 diesel mondeo?

Ahoy everyone

My friend needs a new car and has £2500 to spend, i've suggested a mondeo. He needs a diesel unfortunately.
What is the best trim to go for?

Why does he need a diesel?

I'd find a petrol engined Ghia Spec personally.

On average he does about 14000 to 16000 miles a year

Fair point, thats not a high mileage though really.

The Diesel Mondeo's at that price bracket are more than likely going to be not quite as reliable as your friend may hope, which offsets the extra MPG saving - Personally, At that price, petrols are a better choice.

No £2500 diesel Mondeo. Liability you cant afford if you only have 2.5k for a car.

So would you all recommend a Petrol variation instead? Or at his milage would it be best to stick with a diesel?

Stick with the petrol because of the mileage, the extra in fuel won't be that great compared with some of the jobs high mileage Mondeo diesels require.

Absolutely, tell him to stick with the Mondeo.
