Hey guys,

I know the past RR event was only back in May, but I thought it might be a good idea to start arranging the next one?

General thoughts from the last one were that not everyone seems to be happy with going to Powerstation, and somewhere different would make a nice change.

I've found what seems to be a decent list of four wheel drive rolling roads (4WD because we wouldn't want to prevent anyone from running..) below:

I don't mind arranging this one... So thoughts on when and where?

Kosta

This is absolutely what happened last time. Confused said he'd arranged it and then he ran off to spend 3 months posting in the 'Teddy travels' thread instead.

So cymatty took over and 'kindly' arranged it at Powerstation, co-incidently only 9 miles down the road from his house. :p

Powerstation suits me perfectly as my girlfriend lives 10 miles away but.. I dont think many others like it?

Well I won't be disappearing for 3 months. That's happened once before, and I wasn't travelling

I've never seen the problem with Powerstation, nor understood the problem others have had, but if the majority of people want a change, then we'll change. If not, Powerstation will continue to do us service :)

The issue is we have booked numerous days and spend multiple thousands there, turn up well organised, and the rate seems to just go up and up.

Other RR's have offered us better deals having never heard of us before and powerstation weren't interested in trying to offer anything.

I guess thats what the problem is... :)

Powerstation is the most convenient for me but I don't go for the RR I go for the social aspect and if PS means nobody turns up..

Thanks Conanius.

At the moment I want to see what people think of Powerstation as the venue. The cost, can be seen to be better at different places, but in some cases the cost will be outweighed by the difference in travelling expenses etc. For the sake of £5 or maybe £10 it's not worth an arguement.

So what I'm after is just opinions on the venues in question. The discussion of price can come into it afterwards.

Didn't Surrey RR offer us free Pizza/Burgers and £10 cheaper than PS. Downside is it's more south (but more central) than PS which is slightly more north but west.

I would obviously nominate a more central location. However I wouldn't be running so shouldn't really get a vote. I would like to attend though but it cost me a fortune last time!

I have never understood peoples problems with Powerstation other than us not getting a discount. Their rollers seem very accurate and the explanation as to their figures in some regards being way off base seem perfectly acceptable, with the end figure being the one that counts and in my experiance always bang on the money. (apart from one time everyone was 10% up I think)

Can get all of that plus free food, cheaper prices, different location to allow more people to come and to compare the two RR's.

Surrey RR I think are used by Autocar for a lot of tests.

Ditto, I'll come ...Oxford isn't too bad for me either. I'm happy enough with Powerstation though really, not so much the deal they give ...I wouldn't run anyway, I don't even think my car would fit :p ...I like it because I live half an hour away and the pub we go to has a good car park and always seem ok about us doing what we do.

I guess im just a little wary of RR places and horror stories I have heard and figure better the devil you know what with Powerstations faults not being all that big.

I'll come if it's a reasonable distance away anyway, but I won't be running unless I make any momentous changes or I decide to run the Mondeo :p

Oxford or Powerstation looks good to me. The oxford one looks to be close to the dealer I got my car from so I can go and whinge if I fail dramatically on the RR :p.
