Dead Space 2 .

Added new video to first post from gamescon 8)

The more videos released that I watch just keep making the game look better and better everytime, I really can't w8 for this game in Jan 11(might have to play through the first one again tbh), hopefully FO Vegas will keep me busy for a while atleast.

Another "Ill be getting this" from me. Absolutely loved the first one, and actually just bought it to play again (Only borrowed it the 1st time). A proper lights out, sound up, brightness low game, cannot wait for the sequel :)

This looks pretty cool. I should really start playing the first one again! Got half way through and then just stopped playing it, is a good game though!

thats what i did, ive only recently just finished the whole game, i was a little disspointed with the ending, but the new game looks like it will more than make up for it.

I finished Deadspace last night, as everybody has been raving about it, and there seems to be some hype surrounding Dead Space 2 also. I'm interested to see where they take the story after the events of the original, as the main storyline seemed pretty tied up. Also, I'm really hoping they dont just do a remake of the original but on a different ship... I know its called Dead Space and all that, but if its set on another derelict ship its going to get pretty tiresome, fast.

Edit: Should have watched the second video before posting, as it answered one of my questions. Space Station (ish) setting was pretty obvious, kind of the way Resident Evil went from Mansion to Racoon City but I wont knock it. Love the look of the cutscene battlesequence we saw in the video, if there is lots of content like that then I'll be pleased as punch. Game certainly looks a lot more refined than the first one, all in all I cant knock it.

DEAD SPACE 1 SPOILER

The story wasn't tied up Rids. If you remember the artefact in dead space was actually a copy of one found on earth. I'm assuming the events in the sequel will be caused by this 'original' artefact.

God damn that video looks scary as **** don't know wether id be able to handle playing it without the lights on

I remember when Doom3 first come out (run around in the dark getting jumped off scary crap) and there was a video going around of some guy playing it in the dark in a room on his own, he was jumping about and screaming his head off genuinly scared looking. I can imagine this game doing that to some people ... :)

Dead space imo, picked up on how good horror titles can be. Resident evil has now become just another horror title after the dissapointment that was RE5.

however Dead space had me chilled throughout, I jumped quite a few times :D, cant wait for DS2!

I still need to play through Dead Space on the 360, may very well be a lights off job. :)

I remember watching the 'Mesh Does Doom 3' vids ages ago, very funny; here's a youtube link to the series, well worth watching:

Oh and they have a site here where he plays some more scary games, lol: www.mackandmesh.co.uk
:D

Fixed, But i think that's what you were getting at anyways, and I agree. a lot of the horror games unfortunately are no longer genuinely eerie, just another shooter with a different target

Bioshock and Dead space have managed to be scarier than any other horror game to be released lately. Except I must say Silent Hill, never fails to get me creeped out

Its wierd, I didnt find Dead Space scary at all... and this from the guy that to this day hasnt completed Doom 3 because it scared the life out of him.

What you have to do is get soft :D then play it, im not normally scared by games or films, but Dead space and now fear 2 get me jumping, but only if i have surround sound on as i really get in to the games then.

In relation to my earlier quote - the game did get a bit samey and the fear level dimmed down a bit.

But I must admite I ****!!!! myself when isaac gets grabbed by the tentacle in a certain mutated hallway.
