Best gpu for around £300 to £350?

Looking for a new gpu to last me a good while yet and want the best card for my money at the moment. I've heard the 480 is the sweet spot for this price right now? Plus I like the sound of better minimum fps. Is this the right card to go for?

Btw no sli or xfire suggestions please, just looking for the best single gpu solution at the right price.

If you like the higher minimums and yes the prices seem to be okay for the 480's then the decision seems to already made up then.

Good card, but not good value. 10-15% faster than a 5850, but cost around 50% more than a 5850...

most people will agree with me that the 5870 isn't really worth the price it's given any more with the 470 and 480 at the price points they are now

+1 480, 5870 is not much different from a 5850 spec wise, so a year nearly after release it is very poor value for money, a 480 on the other hand has more memory, more rops and more cores than the 470 making it a lot better value for money.

And back on topic out of the 2 if I had £350 to spend I'd go 480 but with the 470s at £225 now they are far better value.

get a good air cooled 470 with custom cooler for that price...or a cheap 480

And on the 5870 vs 5850, it's 17% faster and costs 35% more, far better vfm than a 480 but when you are talking top end GPUs VFM doesnt come into it, you know you will get less bang for the buck it's just the way it is.
