Hey, basically I have quit playing wow and now have time to put into all the single player games I've never completed most of which I got from steam sales :D. I know some of these games are meant to be classics so I need to go through them :). So come on which of these need completing and in which order... If a Don wants to add a poll could be cool ;)

Abe's exoddus - Don't think I've even loaded this one up.
Abe's Oddysee - Played through it when it first came out then picked it up off steam sale but haven't done much.
Bioshock 2 - Loved BS1. Done a few levels but need to restart to recap the story.
Devil May Cry 4 - Not even passed the tutorial bit yet :o
Diablo 1 - Done like the first quest years ago before getting killed by a skeleton and giving up.
Dragon Age Origins - Just got out of the tutorial bit to start questing.
F.E.A.R 1 - Done about 3 levels but haven't been gripped by it yet.
F.E.A.R 2 - Not done squat yet.
Metro 2033 - Should be in the post on its way to me tomorow
Mirrors Edge - Done a few levels then got bored.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R soc - Found it took too long to get going and I didnt understand the radiation so stopped playing :o
Trine - Done a few levels and like it but it is very repetitive.

So what's hot and what's not and why? And out of the games worth playing which games need to be played ASAP?

Cheers guys and gals.

If you want to play a true classic, your only real option is Diablo.

If you want more modern feel and graphics, I would probably suggest either Bioshock II or Dragon Age. Dragon Age would be my chioce, but I am more inclined towards fantasy settings than sci-fi infused ones. Would take a sword over a gun any day.

Play STALKER, Mirror's Edge, and Metro - three fantastic games. Try to get into STALKER. It takes a few hours, but opens out into a stunning game.

If you loved Bioshock 1, my advice is not to play 2. The first was one of my favourite games ever. The second was my biggest gaming let down ever.

Cool I'm just trying to give stalker a try but keeps crashing using 2009 mod il try and get into it once ice sorted it out. I was actually liking bioshock 2 when I was playing it just didn't have the time so I've lost the plot.

And no I won't be forcing myself to play any of them I got them as I wanted them or read good things so I'm sure il find them fun even if I have to put up with a slow start to the goodness

Metro 2033 and FEAR 1 in my point of view for the clinical FPS games. The other genre's im sure someone will be aable to give you suggestions.

Oh and I'd like to congratulate you on finally getting out of that MMO phase. It was hard for me after years of playing RFO online too, it was certainly a second job to me to come back home grind, farm resourcese and keep up the levels etc. But yeah you wont regret it. Oh and life is so much better now :)

Yeah it's good not being a slave of the Lich king anymore but Cataclysm is just around the corner  we shal wait and see :p

just what i was going to say :p
i recently quit wow too and sat down and ran stalker with the complete mod, and its really enjoyable if you can get past the first bit

Cool, is there a difference between complete mod and 2009 mod? I don't know much about them and for all I know they could be the same thing :P

ha ha, each to their own really but for me, mmo's are too dangerous to my health. But yeah if you like the levelling aspect but dont want it to be too full on maybe try Borderlands. I thought it was great.

Well for me the best part of wow is raiding with a good end content guild which I havent been with for a year now which has lead me to quit, it isnt worth £8.99 a month to level up new chars and run around on a mammoth :/

Yes miss the raiding aspect a lot and the constant rivalry between guilds and drama was always amusing to me but for me those days are long gone.

Agree about STALKER, I didn't like it at first but it gets much better, and complete 2009 mod helps a lot.

Dragon Age is an epic game too. Out of that list I would play either STALKER or DA:O first. Keep in mind DA:O will last you a LONG time.

What do you mean by first bit? I just started playing with complete mod, graphics look pretty Immense in some parts but the npcs faces look a bit tacky, but who cares :p
