I recently went to Vermont with my wife to visit the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory (its her favourite ice-cream!!) and while we were there I bought her a lovely B&J ice cream scoop! :D

Trouble is I neglected to read the cleaning instructions and promptly created a dull, grey rusty-type finish by putting it in the dishwasher!!

My question is, does anyone know where I can get another one from without going back to Stowe???

I've tried e-mailing Ben & Jerry's in the UK and they say they dont sell them and cant tell me who does and if I try to buy one from the US website it tells me they are out of stock but should be in stock by 2001!?!?!?

Any help is appreciated!!!

ps. if anyone happens to be going to Vermont in the near future and feels like picking one up for me, well that would be great!!! ;)

Nope, just a regular metal scoop with Ben & Jerry's on the handle!! (sentimental value!!! ;))

Cant post a pic as I dont know how to but you can view it on the B&J US website!!

if it's metal go on Ebay and get a cape cod polishing cloth and this should restore the shine

just wash thoroughly after

Can't your e-mail the Ben & Jerry's Store on the US website and ask what the deal is with stock?

Or perhaps even ring the Factory Store, if you are that desperate?

When you visited the factory did they still try and pretend that it was run by Ben & Jerry and that they had a firm and lasting connection to the company?

the best scoops transfer the heat from you hand to help scoop/melt the ice cream but they tend to be made of the same metal which is screwed if you dishwasher it (most dishwashers rinse at 80 degrees. the scoop will take 60 degrees max if i remember right.
R.I.P your B&J scoop.

All this hassle for an ice cream scoop? Is she going to let you do something extra naughty if you managed to get it replaced?

No, the tour does tell you that Ben & Jerry are not involved anymore other than for the charity stuff the firm does!
