Finance haters gonna hate :-)

If I'm allowed to, I would also like to express shock and amusement at this statement:

'I didn't hunt around for any special deals... dont have time for that, but it worked out abit cheaper than new'

why shock ?, I do a little rough maths, but seriously don't go mad on researching something as mundane as a city car.

I was lucky to have my father buying a similar small car, after researching in detail (and I'm talking printing out every spec and measurement), he decided on a i10, so I stole his research

jobs a good'un

If you wanted a basic rubbish town car why spend 7k?

It drives as brand new, and is super small for my wife who is a new driver... it's perfect

Something the size of a focus would scare her silly

No more rubbish than your car ?, it's better round town, hence the term 'city car' ?

edit: does twin climate control set your motoring experience apart from mine ?

If your dad's research suggested that a 2 year old i10 was worth 7k then I'd say it probably wasn't worth the fag packet it was written on. ;)

If you added "looking for a decently priced one" into your "research" then the job would be a goo'un. But you failed to do that, so you went from being only mildly foolish to being pretty damned stupid. They really did see you coming.

So with the interest and settlement/arrangement fee's, how many thousand more did you spend over a new one, with a full warranty, without the smell of granny **** wafting out of the drivers seat?

I think it was a flat 5-6% apr, with aroundd 9.5k to pay... I couldn't care less though. Didn't wanna spend much more than 150 a month for that either.

Like I said, I wasn't gonna splash large cash in one go for something that brings food to my house and takes kids to school... I pay more for paying slow, thats the deal.

A Fiesta 1.25 is a fantastic city car and could be picked up for £1500-£2000.

And you could have financed an awesome kitchen/bathroom for your house and added value to the property aswell (assuming you don't rent!)

What's the price of a new one excluding intrest/arrangement fees got to do with anything when buying it without finance was not an option?

You do realise that you 'could' have bought this for the same amount of money, actually £65 less.

Just thought I should point that out :) ...it's not exactly an old banger either, it's 4 and half years older than the Hyundai but ..well, yea anyway.
