Red Dead Redemption Cheaters Banned Today

Quite surprised to hear this on Radio 1 news, I guess it's a slow news day, but anyway, people who have been hacking their game saves to artificially increase their XP are going to be banned indefinitely today. Which is nice.

One persons excuse on the radio was that, he's not a kid and has a job so he can't compete...

Lets hope activision follow suit and ban all the hacked accounts with silly scores on the scoreboard for MW2.

transfer the saves on pc, hex edit them or whatnots i would guess, then transfer them back

I'm sure large majority of these 'cheaters' are all 14 years old and did it because their friends told them it was leet.

No good would come of completely, outright banning them.

Ban them from one game and they might learn a lesson not to do it in others.

I think Microsoft should buy in to Valve's VAC system. Would be expensive no doubt but it would ween out all the cheats and hackers. I would actually be willing to pay a little more for my Live sub if they put that in place.

Good news, Epic actively ban people who glitch out of maps on Gears 2 not to mention the iso hackers etc.. every cheater and glitcher who ruin online games should be banned accordingly.. most of these games are 18 plus so they should be mature enough to know not to hack/glitch cheat etc..

Surely glitching is a completely different animal to hacking though? Glitching is exploiting, to put simply, bad coding in the game. That has to be a development issue rather than a consumer one.

Hacking and purposely changing the code of the game to unlock XP and other aspects yes, absolutely get rid of them.

I've no sympathy for cheaters BUT they did pay £40 or whatever for the game. So to be given the chance to delete their hacked saves before a good part of that £40 is blocked seems fair to me.

Not played on live in ages (my subs silver currently). Are there are a lot of cheaters now on live?
