Finance haters gonna hate :-)

Posting in an epic thread.

For £6300 (thats almost a grand less than you've payed before finance) I got a two year old Fiesta 1.25 Zetec Climate with only £8k which is perhaps what you should have done.

Maybe, but it's not a clear cut 'better car', it's just a Fiesta.. and a little too big for what was wanted.

You going to back that up with some examples with 2k on the clock and an auto box?

Does it matter if it's done 2k or 20k ? ...I know 100k on this kind of car isn't going to be a good idea but 20k should be fine.

How can a Fiesta be too big? ...it's not big enough to be too big for anything really.

But..... a city car is never gonna be a 'hobby' car, so will never get appoval in here.

I didn't post for a 'nice car mate' comment, just for a laugh really. The i10 makes me smile everytime I get in... it's a genuine fun car

Know what's a more fun car?

ANYTHING that costs **** all. A total POS that you don't care about is where the fun is at. You don't care if it picks up any car parking dings and you curb the wheels etc which is what will happen.

The difference is, you'll care when someone whacks their door into your £9.5k Hyundai i10. You wouldn't if it was a £1000 Ford Ka. THAT is where the fun is at for this type of vehicle.

it's kinda cute you must admit :p

It's a red box. Cute? Nope, a Fiat 500 is cute. You could even stretch to saying a Smart is cute... but not a Hyundai i10 :p

Granted, my car purchasing history isnt especially long but there's no way I could ever justify almost 10k on a car, much less a 'runabout' box.

Got the wafty executive bug now. Maybe 6 cylinders will be looked into later though, I dont spend a lot on cars.

(and yes, I had a Hyundai Getz on holiday as a hire car. So I have experienced tin box "town cars" and thoroughly dislike them)

18K of wear to bushes, ball joints, tyres, pads and the like does make a difference. It's not just terminal things that are affected by mileage but the little things that wear out.

That costs naff all to replace on this type of car and you still haven't wasted £4000 on a piece of crap.

As long as he's happy, THAT'S THE MAIN THING.

Sorry but lol @ the best part of 10k on a 2 year old i10.

Seems like a lot of money for a city hack.

Something wrong with you I think.
Obvious troll is obvious.
I'm half your age and I have got more car sense than you ffs.

Ok, so I say the i10 makes me smile when around town in it ?, that makes me a troll ?

You need to step away from your badge snobbery... A car makes you no better than anyone else, it's just a tin box, not a status symbol.

What do you drive just out of interest that makes you have this 'great car sense' ?
