Travelling to the US in the next 2 years?

Did mine the other day off the Vegas soon. I think that if you plan to go to the states for more then 90 days they will charge you for a visa anyway.

I would say to anyone who isnt even planning to go its worth just filling out a planned trip just in case as it lasts 2 years anyway.

my wifes taking the kids back to disneyworld in i think october next year, can you fill in your ESTA form that long in advance?

i cant remember how the esta form was last time but doesnt it ask for flight times , flight number etc? im not sure if she has those already

Surely not? You have to book your flight first then fill out the visa? What if you're knocked for whatever reason?

My mate was refused for some minor criminal record thing from his youth a year or two ago.

Edit:

That info is optional and it is valid for 2 years, which is why I've mentioned 2 years in the title and op.

Ah

Yeah the ESTA have optional parts. Like i dont have a hotel booked yet but have my flights so just put Las Vegas in all the address fields. Plus you can update your ESTA at anytime upto 72 hours before going I believe.

Did anyone else think that this question was abit out of date given that they dont ask other questions related to the more present threats to USA.
"C) Have you ever been or are you now involved in espionage or sabotage; or in terrorist activities; or genocide; or between 1933 and 1945 were you involved, in any way, in persecutions associated with Nazi Germany or its allies? "

its a package holiday smart arse sometimes you dont get the flight info until a later date.

cant even ask a valid question on these forums anymore?

ESTA is pointless period, I have yet to hear of a case where they arrested some terrorist due to the ESTA form

These questions are stupid, who in their right mind is going to admit they were a Nazi during World War 2 killing Jews? Or a terrorist with plans to blow up America?

Okay, so I read that as "tunnelling".

The point is, if you lie and they find out they can deport you instantly for no extraneous reason, no trial, no appeal etc.

Another cracking rypt post!

ESTA isn't there for that reason. ESTA is there to enable people from countries the Americans like lots to travel to America without needing a VISA, not to stop terrorism.

We are lucky to have it - they are entitled to simply require we apply for a VISA, just like most other countries in the world do!

ESTA is great considering you dont have to apply for a Visa. Some countries that require visa's make you travel to their embassy to get one with an interview. Its not like countries have an embassy in each city around the world either is it.

Paying for it I guess sucks but be glad that america have this system in place. Also if you take 5 mins and plan to go away in the next 2 years you wont have to pay.

Dont worry Rypt the British government love to make money they will follow suit shortly.

you'd be moaning if you had to queue outside the US embassy for 1.5hrs just to get through security if you had to go and get a visa. I couldnt see the yanks doing it by post like the aussies do.

Another cracking Fox post where you miss the entire point of my post, congratulations.

Other countries have Visa waiver systems where you just turn up and are let in ... you know, like the whole open borders EU thing?

Americans do not need to fill in a form when they come to UK afaik, and are not charged 9 quid for the fun of it.

USA could simply scrap ESTA and allow people in without a form you know, which was the whole point of my post. They will still know who gets in as they will have the passport information from your entry.
