Finance haters gonna hate :-)

Or compare to the hyundai approved i10 I posted a couple of pages back; £6999, 59 plate (Jan 2010), 5000 miles, same spec and same colour. Over a year newer, but twice the (low) miles.
And how do you work out it's a saving off new price? That's just depreciation because it's old and used, and considering it's two years old it's not enough off.

Locality of the car was very important for me also... this car was supplied new by this dealer. The auto box models are actually quite few and far between.

I wouldn't of traveled over 40miles to see that one instead tbh, and at the time there was nothing on autotrader

It's all very well spouting, oh you could have bought this one, it probably wasnt even on the market 2-3weeks ago.

Really, 9 pages, have a look at yourselves everyone.

Can you see us from up there? The irony of course being that with that post, you've added to the length of the thread, yet not said anything useful. So you're equally if not more to blame than anyone else in this thread.

I cant see the need for local, even 200 miles is still only 1 day, if there is a deal to have i will drive to Scotland.

Exactly, I'm posting to defend my actions, your job is to prove me wrong.

So far all I have learnt is -

- my finance could have been about a tenner a month less

- if I had waited 3 weeks there was a better car on the market (thansk for that)

- my grammar / spelling is aweful, but not as bad as those who point it out

- the i10 is rubbish (no reasons given by people who have never driven one)

Hum

Plus as i mentioned before - you know what a Hyundai i10 is, all approved used ones are going to be pretty much the same. Any dealer nationwide would have bitten his hand off to get 10k for a second hand one. ;)

I can... I dont have the time to be spending a whole day driving.

A local dealer supplied car from that very dealer 2nd time around is a safer buy than traveling 200 miles away.... I'd hazard a guess you'll get better service from them.

They didnt get 10k, they got £6995, for a 2nd hand motor.

Unless of course Hyundai dealers are also in the car finance business... though I'm sure there are some cash backs for selling the deal, but not all the value :|

I'm sure a dealer would have much preferred to sell him new one for £12K ;)

Flukester...the reality is that if you want a tiny car for £7k, they're all much-of-a-muchness imo. The main issue as far as I'm concerned is that you paid more for a two year old than you could have gotten a new one for. Surely that has to grate somewhat?

It's not the satisfaction of seeing you a broken man, rocking in the corner crying, muttering 'I admit it was a **** deal', more just the interest in understanding the thought process of someone that doesn't bother to seek out the best deal. At least for me it is.

- your finance deal is awful and is costing you a great deal in absolute terms

- there are many 1000s of better cars on the market many of them for a fraction of the price

- Typing the wrong word once as a typo is not the same things as continually and consistently swapping words.

- true

How could i of got a new one for £140 odd a month ?, you are wrong.

New OTR price is about 9.5k, with finance thats going to cost how much ?, prolly push payments over 200 a month which I don't want.

You also learnt you can get 0% credit cards, in the two years you say you will keep the car you would only need to balance transfer once. Or have you conveniently forgotten this? It would have saved you £2500.
