Hi guys

I listed my PC on eBay and it's UK sale only. Some guy from Lithuania with 3 100% feedback has bid on it at quite a high price (not sure it'll sell for more, which means, he'll cost me a lot of money if he wins it!)

I'm guessing he's going to win it and then file a complaint with paypal saying the PC never arrived despite me saying that it's a UK sale only :(

Looks dodgy?

Cancel his bid and fix the listing so that it only allows UK buyers?

I only ever have my auctions set to UK (not just 'I will only sell to a UK buyer' in the description) via the options when setting up the auctions. Stops them pesky none UK scammers from bidding.

No person would buy a computer from Lithuania, I can smell a scam. Do you actually think they have no computers in their own country that he could get for less?

Insured recorded postage itself would cost a fortune.

Cancel his bid as other advised.

the prices are a bit inflated in lithuania really so it might be possible :) but yeah you might as well stay on the safe side and cancel it :O

He might be lithuanian and resident in the Uk without having updated his ebay address. There are stacks of them around...

not really STACKS lol.. the whole country has just over 3mil people i can't see how STACKS of them have moved to uk ;) but you might be right.. about the address..

I'd cancel it and set the auction to UK only to be on the safe side, I've heard some bad stories regarding international buyers and Paypal!

Heh, I didn't mean stacks in a bad way, the ones I work with are excellent at their job roles. It is also area dependant, certainly within Norn Iron, there are some areas with high Lithuanian density and regions with zero.

Just meant is might not be uncommon for one to be bidding and not have changed address.
Either way OP, cancel the bid if it worries you and reset your auction to actually stop bids form outside Uk, instead of just stating it.

A Lithuanian wants to pay for your pc and you think hes going to scam you? why dont you think the other bidders are going to do the same thing?

find this pretty dumb tbh, whats the problem, he pays, you use recorded delivery, hey presto, no problem, do you think they can just whip the money back off you without going through the dispute procedure first, just dont be as dumb as your post and you will be fine

shipping prices to Lithuania are a different story though, but that doesnt seem to be your issue
