Catalyst 10.8 is scheduled for 25th or 26th August

The only drivers that work with the 5830 (officially) are 10.2, 10.5a, 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8.

I've had issues with them all apart from 10.2.

EDIT: Using 10.7 at the moment, just decided to give up fighting the issues and leave it be.

I was updating from 10.8 beta on Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Uninstalled previous drivers first using Catalyst Installer -> Uninstall -> Express -> Reboot. Installed DirectX June 2010 and then installed 10.8 using Install -> Express -> Reboot. Never had to use Driver Sweeper tbh.

Muel, install 10.8s, they're very stable. Use Afterburner to set 2D/3D profiles.

The 5 Series cards all run super cool compared to the Fermi so i cant really see the issue as running at 400mhz instead of 150 as the cards do not get much hotter.

Im running a GTX 480 and the power saving clocks are suppose to clock to 50hz for me but instead run at 400mhz as running a 120mhz screen need higher clocks,running at 400mhz idle instead of 50mhz makes a big difference for me as the idle temps increase by a good 10c

Running at 400mhz instead of 150mhz does not make a big difference when temps are concerned,well it never when i had a 5870?

Call me Crazy but has anyone ever considered that ATI are increasing the clocks when OC for a reason?

That's idle going from 150 to 400 clock with drivers over 10.4.

Why they can't lock it back to 150 for one monitor is beyond me.

I install these and then reboot. Catalyst doesn't start. What can I check? Any services/processes I can try to restart?

Mine works fine. Idle clocks still 157Mhz although i don't enable overdrive and just have msi boot up on windows start.

i am supprised that these get rid of most of the stuttering in fc2 for me running crossfired 5770's , this is a first for my setup lol and off to do some more testing

Does Dirt 2 crash with a 5970 with these? Im still on 10.5s so anyone with a 5970 runing these ok?

It's not worked for several released for me I think there's a thread on AMD forums about it, lots of people get no signal when exiting sleep and have to reboot.

I find this unacceptable too. My I7 at idle sits at 143 watts with 10.4 and 188 watts with that last drivers. This is exactly where the additional heat is coming from. There is no reason why the 400 clocks can't be applied to dual monitors and 150 for single monitors setups. It's just bone idle on ATI part. Not impressed at all.
