Looking to buy fresh new tyres

Is it me or does anyone else find when you enter a valid voucher code in Blackcircles it fails to recognise the discount, even though the voucher is in-date?
 
KU31's are pretty good at that price point. I'd be surprised if the rave reviews you've seen were not about those rather than the KH31 whick I've never heard of.
 
Ask on a Focus forum, different cars work better with different tyres, what grip like superglue on one car may be ditchfinders on another so your best asking on a Focus forum.

I can tell you Uniroyal Rainsport 2's are absolutely fantastic on a Honda Prelude 5th gen (Superior to Goodyear Eagle F1's that cost £10 more) but no idea how they will hold up on your car
 
I just recieved the tyres. They came as they were, in no bag or box or anything. Just the new tyres with the manufacturers and delivery sticker on them.

Is this standard practice?


Also, tell me about running them in please. I'm looking to get them fitted today.

Yup, that's standard practice. Just be careful on the tyres for the first 100 miles or so. You really don't need to follow any particular procedure to run them in. Regular driving will be fine.

Am I correct in thinking I can take advantage of the fact that all 4 of my wheels are the same size and after every 3000 or so miles I can swap the front with the rears to make them last longer?

Is there any adverse effect to doing this?
 
The new tyres are on. I did 15 gentle miles today in the rain (was chucking it down earlier). Already, early in this stage I can feel a MASSIVE improvement over my older budget tyres (came with the car). These tyres feel like they just grip the road and don't let go. Naturally I've been taking it easy so I'll be in a better position to write a full on review on the Kuhmo KH31's when I've put a few hundred miles on it.

I got all 4 wheels aligned too. The garage used the Hunter machine which I understand is very good at what it does. This is the result of the wheel alignment:

I didn't notice the rear toe was still out until I got home so I'll go back tomorrow to get that redone.

Except from the toe can anyone see anything out of the ordinary?

They are much better tyres though and offer enough grip for spirited driving and trackdays.

They are a 90% of the performance for 1/2 of the price sports tyre.

The KH31's will be more than adequete for the Focus

He drives a 1.2 Fiesta, how many trackdays do you think he'll be doing :eek:
 
I'm going there now to ask them about that.

I can feel a difference. Before the car swerved to the right when you let go of the steering wheel. Now it feels centered and well balanced - it no longer swerves to the right.

The steering feels a lot sharper, and just better.
 
sodding hell. i decided last night that i wanted new tyres TODAY and cant get them sorted anywhere. no where stocks anything decent
