"First to view will buy"

lol i always think it's slightly presumptuous of the advertiser, not sure why people use it in adverts either though

its just one of those catchphrases like "one careful lady owner" and "never raced" that gets wheeled out all the time.

From working at Autotrader they used to use all this crap to try and sell their cars, most still for sale weeks later. Yes im sure your Corsa 1.2 with Badboy bodykit and K&N induction filter has "Never been racer or rallied" However "Genuine reason for sale" seemed to actually yeild the best results for sellers.

= hasn't had an oil change or service in it's life :D

ya cant say that lol my first car was a vauxhall astra Mk2, 1985 model, mint condition 1 lady owner from new with 38000 miles on the clock, FSH too cost me 425 with 6 months T+T 4 years ago :D

Always wondered what a non genuine reason for sale is?

Genuine

I can afford a better car
I don't like it
It's old and knackered
There is something wrong and I can't be bothered to fix it
I need a bigger / smaller car

Non genuine

My rabbit died
I stepped on some lego
My farts have started to smell worse

What's a non genuine reason?

I've used the first to see will buy twice now

each time I was right

I guess its just your personal belief in your car, or a load of hot air about a lemon :D

Maybe he ran over his rabbit and is now too mortified to ever drive the car again? sounds like a genuine reason to sell to me :P

When going to view such a car, you can ask the seller, 'Am I the first person to view this car?'.
If not, or if, after viewing it, you decide not to buy it, you can probably take enormous delight in pointing out that his advert is misleading.:)

Its an old bit of dealer jargon, taken up by private people.

Who cares what people add to try and sell a car? So long as it isn't just the mileage and price. They describe it, you inspect it, if you like what you see you buy.

You've met my ex-colleague Laura then?

(She once brought her old Polo into work and said it sounded a bit odd when running, and seemed to lack power. After a few more questions she admitted that a light was on on the dashboard. The oil warning light. It had been on for several days.)
