Well, my pack dies after about 6-9 hours of play... VERY annoying, seems to be getting short and shorter in it's life as well. It's less than a year old.

Is it possible to get it replaced by MS or should I just buy a new one?

Also, whats your life time on the pack?

It happens sadly. Doubt MS will replace but i guess it's worth a shot. I find some decent rechargeable batteries + a quick charger does the job far better.

As it's been said, just get some rechargable batteries and a quick charger, they can be picked up for the same price as another battery pack and they usually come with 4x AA batteries. I always have 2 in my pad and 2 ready to be used when the others need charging and they usually last me for 30-35 hours, they would last even longer if I didn't use rumble or a headset.

Is it possible to swap the packs ones around and still use the cable charger?

You probably could I guess. But get a quick charger and a couple of sets of decent AAs and always have a full set on charged and ready next to where you game and youre all set.

I have a set of 4 (well 8 really - 4 per controller in case the mrs plays split screen with me) 2800mah batteries and a decent charger. They last me for ages before I need the next set and there's always a set charged and ready to be used.
I wouldn't touch those charge and play kits with a bargepole.

I have had 4 play and charge kits and they really are bad... One doesn't even charge anymore, one lasts about 1 minute, one lasts 2 hours and the other one lasts ~5 hours.

Wish M$ would up their quailty in their products. Even my wireless headset only lasts 2 hours at the max. :|

I got 4x Sony rechargeables 2400mah batteries with a charger that fully charges them in 10mins (surprisingly it's actually more like 8 mins!) and an extra set of 2400mah energiser rechargeables.

The Sony ones actually seem to last longer, totalling usually a week of heavy use before they need recharging. The Energisers will usually last 3-4 days. Seeing as it takes 10 mins to charge them i cannot fault that as an alternative. I've got a set of the Sony ones in my TV remote, it was about 6 months ago that i put them in and they still don't need recharging.

Search Amazon for Hybrio batteries, or Recyko or Eneloop.

This, they're the only rechargable batteries worth getting as they cost little more (if they do at all) and actually hold a charge. Seriously do some Googling and you'll see those are constantly rated and tested to hold their charge for much longer than any other brand.

And FYI Apple use Eneloops in their massively expensive charging kit.

i dont evne know how much actuall on time i get out of mine, but i use my 360 daily for at least 2 hours on the old skyplayer and somedays 4+ hours of games and it seems to last me at least a week

mine seem to be getting worse but I find they last longer if you don't keep them in the controler.
