Worms: Reloaded!

Team 17 has a very good community. Hopefully some s tuff will get fixed. What game has been released for 1 hour and not had any bugs?

I wasnt going to get this owing to the issues mentioned...

HOWEVER.. I caved in thinking that Team 17 will fix the issues... deep down, I know they no longer care about their community so I dont know why I bothered :(

Ok so from what I can gather... all the so called "pro's" should just go back to playing WA, since it was so "perfect". I guess when you play something for 10 years it can be difficult accepting change.

I like it. Sure, there are a few bugs that need to be ironed out, but with T17 already in communication with the community, I'm in no doubt that this will happen soon. Remember that when you pay for early access on steam, you are often paying for the privilidge of beta testing :P.

The new rope physics are not necessarily a bad thing. I used to get tired of worms being able to reach me in a jiffy from every position on the map, it made trying to play defensively futile. Now it actually takes a bit of time and skill to rope around obstacles, so I can crawl back into a nook after tossing a grenade, confident that some ninja jackass isn't going to reach me from the other side of the map.

The new map generator is also really good. The vertical maps requirely vastly different tactics to the horizontal ones, making for some good variation in gameplay.

One gripe i do have tho is the new sudden death. Being reduced instantly to 1hp kinda sucks, as it gives a massive advantage to whoever is first to act. It was much better when you were simply diseased at the end of a round.

Are you trolling?

Seriously, WA is twice the game this ever WAS.

Name three gameplay elements of Reloaded which are better than WA?

The game is a stinker and I dont even know if it is patchable.

The UI requires a COMPLETE re-write for a start.

If you cant get the UI right, what chance does the rest of the game have?

I kind of agree with what your saying in reply to the ninja rope. I won't have the time or dedication to put into learning the ninja rope as those in the previous versions did, so this will make the MP more enjoyable for me as some pro won't be able to ninja across the whole map and destroy me :D

Punishing skilled players is always going to be a fustration though, so I can see both sides.

I love the game
Only thing i hate is

cant play with 8 worms

Menu is rubbish, takes forever to go through every weapon in a custom game mode and set the values, hopefully someone will fix that.

multiplayer server browser is rubbish but i can live with it.

Last worms game I played was worms world party (and I played it A LOT) at uni... was talking to a mate about getting a more up to date version and playing it again... sounds like WA is a better choice than this new dumbed down version?

Got to say, multiplayer is absolutely fantastic. Only had a few goes in forts (which started off with me batting my team mate off our fort as I forgot the notion of alliances, lol), but it's wicked fun.

What's the 2009 version of WA - I didn't realise the game was supported till recently?

It was, Not 100% sure but even in 2010 iirc.

Basically they added features and made it work on modern OS-es, as it is at the moment it's FAR more featured than WR.

It's not bugs though they blatantly removed a lot of features and ruined the general gameplay ( by ruining the classic worms physics which they held on to since worms 2).

I expected an improved game with fancier graphics, not a cut down sped up game...

The reason I stopped playing WA is because of the old engine, you need to close explorer.exe in win7 and sometimes in vista to make the colors not **** up ingame. And I wanted the convenience of steam.
Remember it's not just the rope that annoys me, little things like not being able to scroll the map during the ''are you ready'' 5 second period or not being able to browse your weapons during the other players turn. They added that around 2008 or 2007 in WA, why would they remove it again I heard nobody complaining about that.

Does anyone else have random lag? Every 10 seconds or so the frames drop from 100 (v-sync) to 50, and that gets really dull as it basically freezes until frames go up again. It's only momentary, but still annoying. Otherwise it's very enjoyable.

im slightly stuck on campaign mission 18. can anyone help?

That 1 is so frigging irritating purely because i have no idea if its possible to rotate a girder, i swear i've pressed everything and it stays flat.

In the end i figured its easier to just take a few steps closer to the mine and plant the electro magnet. That launches the mine into the hole rather than landing short and bouncing over.

Rotate is either space or enter. The other button plants it. :)
