Catalyst 10.8 is scheduled for 25th or 26th August

Ok 10.8 drivers have finished downloading and now I'm going to install the them so I will see for myself about these BSOD. that some of you are complaining about. If I'm not back in 8 minutes due to ATI's incompetence by buggering up my PC then I'll eat my own posts

Installed just fine, the installer looks like it was made for Windows 3.1 but no BSOD, no having to remove old drivers, no driver sweeper etc just over the top and I didn't even have to reboot. For the record I have rebooted and low and behold Windows booted just fine it really was amazing.

Uninstalled 10.7, driversweeper in safe mode, rebooted and installed 10.8.

Jumpy screen when starting/stopping flash videos still here. Starting to doubt that'll ever sort itself out...

Idle clocks are now 400/900 which is an improvement from 400/1050.

had to google PEBKAC. absolute genius. No issues with these 10.8s with my single lonely 5870. but then like a few on here i rarely get issues with drivers anyways. one of the lucky ones apparently.

Just ran 3Dmark06, all went smoothly. Seen a tiny drop in performance over 10.5a of around 40 marks, which is less than 0.3%.

Idle clocks now at 400/1050, yet when I first booted they were 400/900...

I'm using dual monitors which is why mine uses the higher clocks I think. When I disable the second monitor it goes down to 157/300.

I'm interested to find out why it requires such a large bump in clocks just to drive a second monitor.

10.4 -> 10.8 over the top, no problems with install. Reboot, no issues. Sleep state tested, no issues. BFBC2 tested -> perf seems *better*... maybe higher min fps?

Anyways I love to tell the world about CatMakers fecalphelia, but as of yet I have no reason to believe that he has delivered me the steaming sack of shizah that I have been expecting.

Hi all

I have a ati 5770 single card that i use for a media centre and windows 7 desktop work and never play games much. I have 10.2 drivers installed could you tell me which is the best version to install or update these drivers to.

thanks for any help

I always say don't upgrade unless you have a reason to, do you need the slight performance increase these give over 10.2?

I'm fed up of the issues I've had with 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8, thinking of going back to 10.5a and sticking with them.

Had three BSOD's now since yesterday. I'd hate to blame drivers as I've never ever ever ever had any issues, but I do find it weird that I had so many (BSOD) in such a small period of time.
