I just don't get the point of Cravendale.

My fresh milk lasts a week in the fridge.

Aww man this is why I refuse to let the missus buy milk from a shop, the stuff that comes in plastic bottles. Tastes horrible lol.
I insist we have it in proper glass bottles delivered to our door and they last no problems, problem is we go thru bottles of the stuff like theres no tomorrow!

How much is it per pint from a proper milkman nowadays?

Your asking me something and my brain has gone lol
Flips I think its around 45p each... but at the end of the day I cant stand milk thats not from a glass bottle. For some reason it just tastes better.

EDIT: Might be cheaper than that per pint even! I will double check later

I used to love milk that came in glass bottles till he packed it in a few years ago. Was worth the extra :(

Out of interested, the wiki says cravendale ships in an opaque plastic bottle so that the taste is not affected by UV rays...

And when exactly in its life cycle do you expose your refrigerated bottle of milk to sun light?

The best marketing is that which turns a products weakness into its strong point. There is an amusing article here by David Mitchell

The thing is, a longer life milk product like Cravendale doest really benefit the consumer at all. It benefits the retailer and producer. Your milk last for 3 weeks in the fridge eh. And during that time you have never gone shopping at all?

Of course it benefits the consumer - your milk doesn't go off.

We aklways use either Cravendale or Tesco Pure (depending which is on the better offer) in our house. We realised that "normal" milk used to go off before we got around to drinking it all but the filtered stuff lasts at least a week by which time we've got through the whole bottle. Therefore, there is substantially less waste and my picky wife does have to stress about whether the milk tastes "funny" every time she goes into the fridge. :)

But regular milk will last at least a week!
Infact, near enough two weeks if it's properly refrigerated.

In the real world, most people need to go shopping at least once a week. Not to mention, unless you live in the middle of nowhere, you can probably always pop into a supermarket/corner shop during a non-shop day for milk... even buying smaller containers.

As I said before Cravendale is clever marketing to sell milk as being special over that of normal milk, not to mention it also has a much higher sugar content than normal milk, thus why people crave it more..... See what I did there Cravendale... Crave! :p

I use the full fat and semi-skimmed with the espresso machine. Tastes great and steams really nicely.

No codes on either them though. If I get any, you can have them.

Not keen on Cravendale, seems to taste a like 'false milk' :p Rarely have issues with milk going off though as it gets drunk fairly quick.
