These CPU's are arriving next Tuesday (31/10/2010) and this is new price which is about £150 reduction.

Anyone thinking the 930 is gonna drop in price, well yes but our current I7 930 is the new price at the I7 930 was only a £10 drop as the 950 is going to be replacing the 930. :)

do you know how old these are?

just want to know because the latest i7-9xx quads overclock no where near as well as D0's from a year or so ago

well, I just got my i7 930 today

:p

Well to be honest you have seven days to return stuff like that with no reason given at all, so you could easily get the 950 if you really wanted it.

Means going without your new system or without a processor over the weekend, but there are always sacrifices to be made I suppose.

Cheers guys, my 920 is now worth nothing second hand

Thats why I'm thinking it would be better to keep mine and skip the next generation.

No point upgrading to a 950 (same core and max overclocks), and by the time sandy bridge is out, the 920 will be worthless.

That probably makes mine the same :(

You guys are not alone. After tonight, I would'nt be coming back to this forum until after i'm ready to make an upgrade again. It pains me so much to see my rig getting worth less and less everyday with all these price cuts.:(

from the point of selling on to make a low cost side grade ( I don't consider 920 to 950 an upgrade ) yeh you're taking a hit but c'mon the q6600's at 3.2 and upwards are still highly capable and well regarded cpu's, your 920's at 3.2 and up will still be cutting it 12 months from now
