Sooo...

Bought am Asus GTX470 for fun more than anything really as I am already running a GTX295, I wanted to see if the Fermi hype was worth it.

Honestly I am gobsmacked with this thing!

Overclocked to 700core 1400 Shader and it is on par with my GTX295 with standard clocks in 3dMark Vantage! With 0 extra volts.

A hell of a lot quieter, and slightly cooler.

Much cooler on idle in fact!

I have no idea why people are saying they run loud etc, that is a complete and utter lie IMO, I cannot hear this thing and I have the side panel of my case off!

Very impressed!

at idle its quiet under load there is a slight whirr..

they arent loud cards but u can hear them shifting air as they get warmer towards 92 degrees.

u shud easily get 750 out of the core maybe with a volt bump

Never got to 92 degrees in Vantage!

Highest it has been in Vantage, BC2 and ATi Tool Artifact scanner is 88. :)

Its not exactly a lie is it when it does run hot and on average the fan noise is a bit too loud to combat that heat.

My amp! edition gets to 52C max under furmark :P

Just overclocked to 850 Core and 1700 Shader, Max temp was 85 with Custom Fan profile.

Im liking this card :P

Memory is currently at 1700, is it possible to go any higher?

30 min Furmark screenshot or it didn't happen :p

Yeah that was just a 10min run, doing it right now.

Fan auto, stock volts 0.950v facotory oc at 656mhz core clock, 1701 memory.

Currently 20min 53C current 54Max (54 just jumped twice, its mostly 53C) and really only becasue it produces so much heat, the ambient inside the case increased a bit ;).

Will post temps after 1 hour.

It is quite a good card, the cooling I mean.

Its only a partial lie - when they warm up they DO get VERY loud :( however in normal gaming you aren't likely to push them that hard, mines whisper quiet in all but the most intensive of games.

Mine does 800MHz on 1.05v with hardly any temp. increase over stock also the performance is great it feels very consistant.

I have very good cooling (reference cooler but properly (auto) regulated case airflow) with 850MHz @ 1.087v my GTX470 easily hits 91C in Furmark after 10minutes. In games tho it rarely exceeds 66C.

Have you got GTA IV? Afterburner screenshot after 30 mins play please. Also GPU-Z to see if 60% fan speed means 4000 rpm or 2000 rpm. Can't tell you how loud 60% is, can tell how ******* loud 4000 rpm is :)

My 5850 gets to 80*C in GTA IV, will post a screenshot of how badly it looks like :p

My 295 is near silent, single pcb version and the fact my case is an ft02 so it's got it's own intake fan more or less :p.
