Accident advice - double ended!

Well I'm not too bothered about next years renewal because I won't be getting a single traders policy, as I need one to cover a garage and workshop etc too!

Just got off the phone to them, they want me to send them an invoice for the car and any work it's had done - a lot of work was done in house - and our labour isn't cheap ;)

Softens the blow a little if they decide to write it off which is the most likely outcome.

What's their sequence of events?

Woman in front is saying she got rammed twice! So saying I hit her first them woman behind me hit me!

Unfortunately my passenger can't be a witness!

Oh and a mysterious witness has appeared from out of nowhere!

Which I can't really see as being possible given no one stayed at the scene!

this happened to me and i maintain even now that if i was'nt hit by the car behind before i hit the one in front i would have been able to avoid the car in front.anyway in the end i had to pay out for the damage to the front of my car and the damage to the car in front of me.the car behind me paid for the damage to the back of my car

also the law is an arse when it comes to the road.i was once done for speeding on my motorbike by a hand held speed camera.now when it went to court one of the policemen who were there stated in his report at the time that i was over taking traffic.and the other policemen stated that there was no other traffic on the road.my barrister failed to pick this up and when i stood up in court to mention it ,i was told to sit down and be quiet.lovely

Remember there is only one winner with insurance claims, and its not you.

Still good luck with it anyway.

I bet the woman in front is starting to have a painful neck too....

the roads would just be a better place without them, I vote for pink lanes filled with women and we can have nice fast and safe man lanes, then lets see how "safe" women are, most stupid stat ever that women are safer drivers

I don't know what the silly cow was stopping for anyway! There was no traffic in front of her, she was going up a hill and it was ******* it down really heavy and the silly cow decides to stop!

I hit the brakes hard and ABS going mad pretty much came to a stop before the woman just skidded straight into me at which point I let go on the brake pedal - which you kinda do when someone rams you unexpectidly!

Edit: The woman rang Winns solicitors straight away probably to pursue a personal injury claim!

surrounded by women in cars, you were doomed matey, go drown your sorrows!

just remember they are statistically better drivers so it must have been your fault

the way it actually works is, women cause 99% of crashes just never think to look in their vanity mirror to see what damage applying their lip gloss has caused.

I bet your neck is really quite sore now as well isnt it.... ;)

You will get 1k minimum and that may just leave you not out of pocket. Sad but true.

And they wonder why people have to make dodgy whipclash claims... its just so you dont end up DOWN on the deal usually, even when its not your fault.

The best way to go about it would be to get an independant engineer to put a value on it. This would cover your lost earnings, so to speak, as it would be the price of the car as it is worth, as opposed to how much you bought it for. You should send the report to the insurance company of the car that hit you, because as far as you are concerned, thats the one at fault. this way, you wont have to claim off your own policy, and indeed, you dont even have to let them know.

Had an independant valuer give it a once over this morning, he said that it's a total loss and values it at £3250 - with the option to purchase the salvage at £480.

As this valuer was working on behalf of the claims company who now can not deal with my car claim as there is a dispute with liability it mean's nothing!

My insurance company who I am having to claim from at a cost of £600 ins excess will be putting a value on it within the next 48 hours, and again giving me the option to purchase the salvage.

Hopefully I can recover my costs and may even pocket some if they come out with a similar valuation to the independant who valued it this morning, I already have the salvage placed at double what I can buy it at (independants value).

WIN WIN so far except for premiums going up next year, which isn't an issue because I won't have a personal trade policy anyway.

Perhaps not for the insurance company but if it were to go to court they could, just thought id mention it as afaik nobody else has.

Excellent, I got a letter from my insurance this morning wanting to know the chain of events and also if I'd stand up in court if need be.
