The clock speeds are a very optimistic to. 850Mhz with a Fermi based card is very dodgy.

Wtf, I run 850 without issues. 800-850 seems very achievable from what i've seen.

Yeah good choice. In my opinion, 460 if you can't afford the 470 otherwise get 470.

I just got a GTX470, it seemed the best choice price, performance wise, offering a lot of go, without the really high 480 price tag

mine arrived today, something really weird in 3dmark, im getting the same sort of fps wether i run it at stock or overclock it to 800/1600/2000

any ideas?

Excellent, from what I can tell all the 470's appear to be reference design unlike the 460's is this correct?

they are both reference design, or at least most of them are.

however, the 470 is based on the gf100 core, and the 460 is based on the newer gf104 core
